Hey. Guys can you login MyUCLA with your 9 digit UCLA ID and see your financial aid award letter? Also apply for housing?

TAP certification is a boost for a lot of applicants. I have a friend who was accepted to UCLA with a 3.3ish GPA for Art History. Wouldnât have gotten in without TAP.

@MYOMOOâ
where do you get the ucla id number?

You email the admissions Office and you will get the ID

Major: History
GPA: 3.6
IGETC and prereqs will be done this spring, along with an AA-T degree (Donât think that makes a difference with UCLA).
ECâs: some history tutoring, as well as work experience.
Transferring from Mesa Community College. Live in North San Diego County.
Accepted: UCSB, UCSC, SDSU, CPSLO.
Pending: UCLA

Canât really beat the location of UCSB, but UCLA will be hard to turn down on the slim chance I get in⊠

Isnât history or pre-history impacted at UCLA? I got regents invite and Iâm still not counting on getting in lol

@onehandedredâ

Yes, although itâs worth noting that that major isnât as impacted as biology, psychology, or economics at UCLA. Itâs only somewhat impacted.

For my major, global studies, it says on assist.org that it is highly selective. Does this mean it is impacted? If I remember correctly the average admitted GPA for it last year for transfers was around 3.81.

https://www.admissions.ucla.edu/prospect/Majors/lsmajor.htm

According to this list of majors in UCLAâs College of Letters and Science, Global Studies is impacted.

Is anyone planning on studying abroad?

So, I applied as Pre-Psychology, with all my pre-requisites completed and one of them currently in progress. I have a 3.96 GPA.
Iâm starting to think I may just want to do Philosophy instead, however. I have all of the per-requisites for Philosophy finished as well.
Do you guys think I would be able to successfully appeal for Philosophy if I get rejected for Psychology?

@Freetofly112â

Unless you have TAP on your side, I doubt UCLA will accept you in to an alternate major. Generally, UCLA doesnât admit non-TAP students in to alternate majors as far as I know.

@ocnativeâ

Not really interested. Iâve heard that itâs not worth it. Not sure if thatâs true, but it certainly doesnât interest me. But to each their own, right?

What do you guys think of my odds?

Program: Biz Econ
GPA: 3.93
IGETC: Complete
PREREQS: All complete, except for Calc II which Iâm taking now. Aâs in all of em.
TAP: I dropped out, because I didnât want to bother with an alternate major as none of them interested me.

@GreatestTheâ

lol, you know you donât have to pick an alternate major as a member of UCLAâs TAP program, right? You may have just made it less likely to get admitted because of it.

In any case, your grades are good, but I donât know how UCLA feels about completing Biz Econ pre-reqs in spring. If theyâre OK with it, you should get in.

I wonder how many waitlist offers will ucla be giving? It makes it a bit less nerve wreaking knowing they will have a wait list this year. Althought who knows how itll work out

wait they are doing waitlist this year???

@Bookham yes ucla rep told our workshop

Yeah, I believe Ms Sun also noted that UCLA was adding waitlist this year. Anyway, I read it somewhere a while back.

Past two years, UCLA has released an official news release that includes all their admission numbers and the release date of transfer admissions around a week from now. It was April 17 in 2012 and April 18 in 2013. So thereâs about a week to go until we know the date on which we will know if weâre admitted or not.

Donât like the waitlist thing at all. It gives people so much hope and they only admit so little people off the waitlist.
