The Official Pakistani Thread for the Class of 2014

I’m sure there are lots of silent readers on this forum. What do we have to do to make you come to the fore?

Yayy I got into Brown:). Good luck to the rest of you in regular.

HAVYY

O GR8 COngratz
( i hope ur harry potter fan  :stuck_out_tongue: )

O excellent!
heartiest congrats to you, Imran Sadiq!
BTW did u apply for aid?

n @ EVERY1
I am not new over here. been posting b4 but my just changed my ID

@ Imransadiq
sorry for being so obtrusive but you posted different stats on this forum and different on brown ED thread. Can u clarify which are the right ones?

@Imransadiq: congratulations!! were you the LAS student who got in, or another one?

Btw, Inert101 hasn’t mentioned what happened about Yale - did he get in, or was he deferred like me? sorry, I’m just curious.

Now it’s back to filing apps for me. Hope Pakistan does well in the RD round!

@Imransadiq: Didn’t you say you went to Aitchison? And weren’t you applying to Dartmouth?
ZE PLOT THICKENNS

@hb730: Yeah, so it turns out that I got deferred too. It’s ok though, Yale was never really my first choice. Apparently there was a 50% deferral rate, and this one kid from St. Patrick’s in Karachi got in. I don’t want to add his name to the list, because even I’m not entirely sure about whether or not that is true…

@Inert101:yeah its true…only one from pakistan for now…

@Ecthelion: How do you know?

Yes, I was the one from LAS and I did not apply for aid. Here are my real stas. The first one was a joke with the friend on this forum:

Also AP Computers (1)

:)

Loooooooooooooooooooooooool!

@Juggernaught: I have many friends in that school…

Plus yale has taken a few decisions that have surprised many this year…

My Econ teacher teaches at st. Pats as well, and they always get in… Bias much? Hahaha that’s life, inert101- I don’t really mind it except that now I have so many other apps to fill out, it’s buh-bye winter break!

Yeah but stpats does not feature as prominantly on their list as some of the other schools do. I am talking about one school in particular. In the last five years, three people have been selected from st pats…You would be shocked by the stats of the other school that i mentioned but i guess you already know…There was one year in which 7 students were selected from this school…and those were the only students selected in pakistan…First time in a decade, Yale has not taken anyone from this school in EA…

@Ecthelion: Whatever it is, I don’t think Yale has ever taken ANY students from any of the American schools in the country.

@hb730: Luckily enough I only have 2 more apps to go. I decided to prepare myself rather than worsen the blow of a deferral/rejection by having to work on tons of applications.

Also, would anyone care to add this St. Patricks fellow to the list?

Report: Pakistani Student Accused of Cheating
[Report: Pakistani Student Accused of Cheating Maila Times](http://mailatimes.com/2009/12/16/report-pakistani-student-accused-of-cheating/)

Hi guys…have u gone through this one???such an embarrassment…be careful about the facebook status!!!

“Reports leaked by the Dean’s office suggest that according to the excuses Basit has made in the past four years, his grandfather has passed away five times (twice from smoking, once from old age, and twice from a car accident), his grandmother thrice (once from cancer, once from being hit by a bus, and once from falling down the stairs), his great-grand mother twice (once from eating too much nihari which caused high blood pressure, and once from the shock of finding out that her grandson is going out with a ‘gori’ in London), his parents went through a divorce twice (both times he told the professors that his mom accused his dad of sleeping with the massi), his elder sister got married six times (but according to records, Basit is the only child), and that there were several instances of his family having financial problems that led him to skip home works and project deadlines”

HAHAHAHA I CAN’T STOP LAUGHING

But really, this is just sad.
