Okay, we really need to build on the list above. I’m sure there are dozens of people applying early from Pakistan.

COME OUT OF THE CLOSET, please.

LAS is on fiiirreeeee

who’s waiting for tonight’s result ??

I am… :frowning: btw we had an nyu acceptance at kas!! I’ll add it to the list later, I’m studying for my exams tomorrow abhi.

@hb730: Good luck man, hopefully our names will be added to the list by tonight.

Does the international supplement show next to school report in the common app school forms section because mine does not?

Yar i seem to have a problem. There was this chess competition that was held in my region and some of the top schools participated. My team won that tournament, but towards the end of it, things did not go well. I started hooting when i knew that we had won, and i may have booed a few times. As a result the home team decided to avenge their defeat by writing wrong names on our certificates. My middle name is missing. The spelling of my first and last name is wrong. And my certificate is not stamped properly.( I am sure that the chess coach of home team still remembers me. How can he not after what i did?)
I accept that my actions may not have been entirely commensurate with the solemnity of the occasion, but what should i do now…that certificate is a bit important…Should i tell this to the universities that i m sending them to…(I mean not the booing part)…

You don’t need to send a certificate to prove that you won the competition… Actually, unless you took a course over the summer, you shouldn’t really send anything as ‘proof’ of your activities. If you want to ‘show off’ (i.e., send art portfolio’s, links to websites you’ve made etc.), then I think you should send extra stuff to college.

I hope that answers your question. If they doubt that you were in the competition, then they’ll contact you or your school, but I think they rarely ever do that.

yea once i asked da same question on CC they told me they rarely fone and chck . No need to have certificates . If ur teacher or conselour mentions it sumwhere in her/his report its a proof and it is ok.

^ I agree. Universities don’t need certificates that proof you actually did something. You could send them an email and mention that you participated in this EC. A lot of my friends did that last year. Update your college about with your progress.

Inert101, still up? This wait’s positively atrocious, and I still have another exam to study for… Good luck bhai!

Would sending a winning entry from a writing competition be helpful?

Ecthelion, every little bit helps- winning something is always good; go ahead and mention it,

Good luck boys, make us proud.

Haha hb, how could I not be awake?

@Ecthelion: THAT is the kind of thing you should be sending! Btw, when I said that they don’t usually ask you for proof, it doesn’t mean that you should lie on your activities list… it just means that you don’t have to give proof. PLEASE don’t cheat :)
