<p>"The results of the Cambridge Outstanding Achiever Awards 2009 reveal that more than 50 Top in the World awards have been won by students in Pakistan. "</p>

<p>Also, “To mark the occasion, CIE has produced a commemorative brochure.” Check out the 12 page brochure on the CIE website if you want to learn more about the full list of students whose laudable achievement in May/June examination session has been recognized by CIE.</p>

<p>The O level world top is a bit deceptive as 90% of the entries for O levl are from Pakistan as there are IGCSE etc offered…Of course that is not true for A levels</p>

<p>I agree with you though that O Level is so passe. Even though many people in Pakistan think it is the next best thing since the invention of ink, the British did away with it in 1986 and we are pretty much the only ones who still happily take it instead of IGCSEs. Having said that, considering the fact that every Tariq, Daniyal and Hamza seems to be taking O Level these days, a distinction is still something to be very proud of. At least, to me one distinction beats getting 17 As at 91-97%…</p>
