Which college is that? @mchaditheyoda
@livinglife2020 Wheaton, I know they don’t give aid but they had sent me a application fee waiver in their mail. I copied most of the supplement from another college. So it basically took me 10 minutes (I think the adcom spent more time on it).
The interesting thing is after I applied, I got into their portal and half of my checklist was not checked (it asked for Toefl which I hadn’t given and 2 different types of transcripts). I woke up to their mail saying the decision was available today and I was surprised since I didn’t even bother opening their portal for a second time.
@mchaditheyoda I’m assuming you intend competition to mean difficulty since I would be shocked if the number of students applying is too different from that of previous years. In terms of difficulty, no I think it is equally as difficult. I think what makes a lot of people think every year that it is getting harder is that the stats of students are getting better in general due to being better informed about the process. However, stats around Pakistan are generally on the rise so the difficulty, in essence, remains the same.
@AltoLime I think the number of applicants has risen a lot over the last couple of years, I guess we can agree to disagree on that.
for difficulty, I was talking about difficulty relative to previous years.e.g. 4-5 years ago a person with a sat score of 2150ish and around 8A’s in O’levels (among other things) would have been aiming for the elites, this year many would agree those stats to be pertained to the mid tier unis.
Bard decisions will be out today. @mchaditheyoda
@ZainSD how do you know? If that’s true, I’m having 3 decisions (read 3 rejections) today.
I emailed them. 3 decisions most likely at 3 A.M tomorrow.
Welcome to the ludo shop
@AlphaX , were you admitted to Columbia?
@PakiWiz Yeah man, I was accepted ED.
But I’m a Pakistani born and living in the US.
@AlphaX are you considered a local student? looks like its difficult for everybody. I have been waitlisted by WUSTL and Uchicago and rejected by MIT Caltech Northwestern. Just waiting on duke ivies and stanford
@AltoLime I was waitlisted at Uchicago. What should I do to improve my chances since I need fin aid?
@terry137 how do you plan to respond to the wait list offer
@banner178 UChicago is terrible with aid so don’t expect anything. For now, accept the waitlist offer and email them to let them know that they are still your top choice school and that you hope to be taken off the waitlist in the near future.
I just i would pay another 10K at uchicago. I originally applied for 50 percent aid. (Paying 30K)
Hi guys Looks like I’m late to the party. I’ve applied to 6 places in the US but things aren’t looking too good :I Could everyone please share their stats and where they’ve applied?
@mali98 there’s no real point in that now since decisions are already made. Sharing stats is most likely going to make you even more nervous about the outcomes, just relax and wait I guess.
Has anybody heard from LUMS yet? Someone said they’ve started sending out the letters :-S
Did any Pakistani get into Harvard this year? Class of 2020?
@rajper Already? I thought there was an interview involved as well…
@theanonymousgirl Bilal Hussain from LGS JT.
@mchaditheyoda only a few selected people are called for the interview and the FA students are called for it as well. I don’t know if the news is true, someone is claiming that 18 people have received theit letters already :3
This is making me more nervous
