My understanding is that a separate transcript and teacher recommendation must reach the BA/MD program by Dec 10.

I got my postcard today saying they had recieved my application... I just need to check if they got my science teachers rec, cause he sent it in seperatley.... but ages ago

Does anyone's application, if they submitted it online, have blanks for the teacher recc and transcript?? I sent it in on dec 1 but it still is marked unreceived. Was it lost or is it because there are 1000 apps they are trying to process through?

Where are you able to check you application status?

I did all of it on paper. I didn't include a postcard either...so yeah.

I dont think you can check your admission status for bac/md.... you just have to wait for a letter or not...

Do you think they treat Canadians a bit differently from other international applicants?

i know there's a couple of non-citizens in this year's freshman bac/md class, and at least one canadian, but no other straight up international students. so i'd say that canadians have just as good a shot at getting in this class as anyone, maybe a tiny bit better than other internationals just because of these numbers that i can think of? but definitely dont quote me on that, and dont let just that one fact discourage you or change anything you would be doing anyway

Last year, they had an online thing that had all the application materials listed with boxes next to them, and a little check mark appeared next to each one as they got it. I'm surprised they took it down this year, especially with how good USC at correspondence. I think the volume of applications went up in general this year as well as for the program, so they may be a little busier processing everything.

As for international students, I wouldn't say it gives you a leg up or not. We have two Canadians this year, but they both live in California now and have for a while, so I'm not sure how living out of the country would affect that. Don't worry about it, just sit back, relax, and finish your other applications. The decisions will be coming soon :).

Would we find out by the end of January?

well it has to be early feb at the latest logically cause interviews are late feb/early march...

So I looked through my old CC posts and I received my undergraduate acceptance and scholarship interview invitation on January 28, 2008, so it must have been mailed around the 23rd (because mail to Chicago from LA took FOREVER). The Bacc/MD interview invitations were mailed on January 31st and I got mine on February 6th.

So the whole being educated in another school system really has no effect on my chances right... I'm a US citizen, but living in another country and been schooled here my entire life, except for a brief 4 months at a LA school

:( End of January!??

I don't want to wait that long!

neither do I!!!!!!! but its getting closer... I'm going to be a wreck from the 26th onwards.. cause two of my friends are leaving for 10 months on the 26th... and then its the end of january!!!

omg i know its only a few weeks, but a month seems like a very long time to wait right now! i'm soo nervous

me tooooooooooooo

Kinda related, but my friend came back from California this week to visit (he had moved away) and he mentioned that his AP Euro teacher had said Schwarzenegger had subsidized private universities in Cali so they would accept my in-state students.

Is that true? Because if it is, I wonder if this affects the chances of a lot of us in this thread...it would affect me since I'm from Chicago suburbs...not California.

woah beeish. I'm the complete opposite. I was born in Australia and I now live in the United States.. how funny!!

How's Australia? Like, living there versus living in the US?

Just curious.

@asianaussie2009... haha that is kinda funny! could tell by your name too :P we can have an aussie reunion at USC next ... i mean this year :P (hopefully, crossing fingers)

Australia is uh.... Australia... everything is upside down and we ride kangaroos to school... oh yeah and we don't speak English... no way... we speak australianese....

just kidding. Its not that different to the US I guess. just smaller and the cities are different... I can't generalise about Aussieland, cause every state is different... and i've only been to four cities... but yeah... we have one sexy ass accent.. actually my accent is screwed cause I have random american inflexions.

um our school system is RETARDED... if you want the low down on how it works see my post i the USC 2013 thread... it goes on FOREVER and I can't be bothered to explain it again... was irritating me though, cause when I went to a US school I was in like mostly honors classes (they wouldn't let me take AP cause I wasn't there for a whole year) and I was topping like every single one... with out even trying that hard... yet I come like 50/160th at my aussie school, even though I rank in the top 1.95% of the state.. (not 2%, 1.95% yes that extra 0.05% is v. important lol)... um our food is sucky too... i miss US food... not the servings but the supermarkets... and the clothes!!!!!
