The old "my child's life is over in 7th grade" academic track dilemma

<p>Rhandco, as long as students are performing well enough on the mechanics-oriented mandated tests of language arts, they couldn’t give a flying you-know-what about whether the classroom discussions are insightful and mind-expanding, and certainly don’t care whether the kids who would love to discuss literature at a higher level are sitting there with their eyes glazing from boredom. Are parents going to complain? No money in lit, you know!</p>
