20% or so!. Now that's a big number. And likely another similar (15-20%) increase next year.

Yeah, I know ours in going up 12.5% for undergrads. Not great. How’s Madison looking?

By comparison–not so bad. Including Madison Initiative increase already in place total will be about 8.9% I think. Base increase of 5.5% plus $250 for instate. OOS not known yet. But probably similar % increase plus the Madison Initiative bump which is higher for OOS–$500 I think. It will remain well below UMinn. But Wisconsin kids going to UMinn will have to pay full Uminn instate tuition starting next year (2012) I think. Not final yet. State tired of making up the difference and sending Minn a big check. Could reduce interest in Wisconsin kids going to UMinn as difference will be around $2000/year.

So would this also be a 20% increase for out of state tuition? I have a cousin who is going there next fall, so she might be in for a bad surprise.

Not much said about that in the press. I think I heard it would be much less–like under 10% but not sure.
