We already have eight schools in the palm league. No room for a ninth school. Lets give UCSD, UC Davis, UCI, Cal Poly and UCSB honorable mention

Bump…

it was “funny” while it lasted. now let it go

This got me thinking about the Pac-10. California schools top the list!

Stanford
UC Berkeley
UCLA
USC
University of Washington
Washington State
University of Oregon
University of Arizona
Oregon State
Arizona State

Uwash is a pretty amazing school. They also have the best medical school for public health in the country.

Palm League:

Stanford

Cal Tech

CAL

USC

UCLA
6-8 the liberal arts since I don’t know them well haha.

How come everyone is putting ucla above usc. Usc is ranked higher now according to us news, has higher sat scors then cal and ucla (and if you guys mention superscoring, studies show that it only helps a few points, usc is like 50-100 points above ucla/cal in sat, and usc has higher act scores then ucla/cal and the act is NOT superscored)

is it because usc is relatively new in its prestige?

however, for freshman and transfer admission, isnt UCLA, Berkeley and U$C equally selective?

Because USC sucks, duh.

ella89- dont forget to put the dollar sign when talking about U$C :)

I think their about equal but if you ahd to choose usc>cal>ucla

I guess because of average sat/act scores

The Ivy Leage and Palm League Combined:

Harvard

Princeton

Yale

Stanford

CalTech

Berkeley/UCSF

UCLA

Columbia

Upenn

Cornell

Brown University

U$C- I had to emphasize on putting the $ symbol on the “S”

Darthmouth College

Pomona College

Harvey Mudd College

Claremont McKenna

This is the list of ivy league and palm league schools. What should we call this league of 16 prestigious universities? The Smart League?

The league of good job your parents are rich

Idk why you guys are so obsessed with the $ in USC…considering all the Claremont liberal arts schools(Pomona, Claremont Mckena etc) , CalTech, and Stanford all cost about the same as USC.

I am a UCLA bruin :)

lol my sister goes to USC and Im a USC football fan so I guess I am biased as well.

lbc123-what do you think about the rankings though?

Well my school (UC Davis) is only honorably mentioned…so naturally I am offended.

But other than that I think Id rather go to a “Palm League” school any day (vs Ivy League)

Rules of eligibility for The Intellectual League: that school can not have a TAG agreement with any community college in California or any other college in the United States or any college in the world for that matter.

Maybe in seven to ten years, UCSD and UC Davis will be palm league members.

They are great schools which are climbing up the rankings.

I got into UCLA and Cal and I make more money a year than my mom does… And that’s not a lot. So the rich thing isn’t going to work.
