The Pros & Cons of Segundo, Tercero, and Cuatro?

Could someone please offer insight to the pros and cons of all of the dorms? Including information about <how many="" share=""> bathrooms/showers/kitchen?</how>

check this link out, i'm pretty sure it'll answer all your questions:

http://www.housing.ucdavis.edu/Halls/Facilities.HTM

this link from davis wiki is great too.

http://daviswiki.org/Residence_Halls?action=show&redirect=Dorms

(Although I am attending UCD for the first time in Fall 07, ill try my best to give my own opinion.)

Segundo
Pros - The closest dorm district to the Arc.
Segundo North has a contemporary design.
Cons -
Located in the east corner of the campus, -may be far from your lecture halls.
Shared bathrooms

Cuarto
Pros - Apartment Style
Swimming Pool
Suites with private bathrooms
Cons - Off-campus (A block away from campus), which may require a bike or bus transit.

Tercero
Pros - Contains the newest dorms.
Almost the center of the campus

Cons - Across the street from the dairy facility. Buy nose plugs if you can't tolerate the smell.

One more thing to add for Cuarto that I neglected in another post. You have control of your own heater and air conditioner. I would also add that there are no elevators which are a constant hassle in the traditional dorms.

any thoughts from people that live in the dorms and have specific likes and dislikes?

From the Daviswiki: "During the 2006-2007 academic year, the rooms in both Segundo North and Tercero South were converted from double to triple occupancy rooms (three people per room) because of the largest incoming freshmen class in Davis history. 388 rooms in Segundo North and Tercero South have been become triple occupancy. ([WWW]Source)"

does anybody know if this is still true for 2007-2008? and does this mean EVERY room is now a triple in segundo north and tercero south?

i asked a few people at Davis and they said that if you submit your forms in on time [and preferably early] you should be able to request a single, double, or triple. soo...i guess some of htem will still be triples but it's strictly be request?

can anyone validate the info that i was given?

UCD has already announced their intentions to accept fewer incoming freshman this school year. It follows to reason that there will be fewer triples if there are fewer students. Most who tripled this year did so by request to save money.
