<p>Daughter will start at VT in the fall. Can someone please help me understand why I would choose any meal plan other than the default plan (Major) since I can add funds to her plan if needed?</p>
<p>There really isn’t any reason to. It’s very easy to add money down the line if/when she needs more.</p>
<p>I think the choice of a higher meal plan is more convenient for people who need all the expenses figured out up front, for example people who are taking loans to pay.</p>
