So, last fall my parents disrupted my perfect world. They told me i had to go to a private boarding school, i was distraught. I wanted to leave my parents but not all my friends and family. They made me apply to Exeter, Andover, Choate and Hotchkiss. At every interview i had to behave because otherwise my parents probably would have sent me to a military school.
I got into all of them :( :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(. I cried all day and all night. I didn't want to go.
But my parents signed me up for exeter anyway. So now i have to go to this nerdy, stupid school with kids i will never like. Ill probably fail or cheat my way through.
I cant believe this is happening to me!!!

If you really didn't want to go you could have just written that in the essays or mailed a letter to the schools by yourself. Good luck, though. I'm sure you'll end up loving Exeter. Just try to have a good attitude about it.

my parents would have found out and then id be in HUGE trouble

I doubt the admissions office would call your parents and say, "Is it true your daughter doesn't want to come here??" They would probably just reject you even if you were qualified (which you obviously are).

What is it about Exeter that you don't like? I was there for their summer program and loved it so I could answer questions for you.

Oh you dont know my parents. And exeter, i think the kids are nerds, stuck up brats and dont even try to convince me otherwise

Ohhh bummer. You're not
going to get a lot of pity on this forum thoughhh!
Lots of us applied to that school and got rejected.
Good luck anyway. Boarding school will be fun, just
don't be all, "this is going to suck" just try and keep
an open mind and positive attitude. There are kids
from all different walks of life at these schools, so
not everyone will be obnoxious but like everywhere,
there might be a few kids you can't stand.

boo hoo. (where's fun? i think this thread is missing a snide comment.)

Oh my goodness, look Chill out, man. you got into an amazing school! you've been given a great opportunity, and your sneezing on it. the best school in the countyu is nothing to sneeze at dude. Please excuse my bluntness, but judging by the fact that your not trying to have fun with this experience, and make the best of your situation, i think your acting like a stuck up brat. So my advice, GET OVER IT, and appreciate the chance you've been given. SUCK IT UP AND ENJOY YOURSELF.

Have fun at Exeter. :)

~Dazz

Boo hoo.....you have to go to Exeter.

Grow up and appreciate how supremely lucky you are. There are thousands of kids, tens of thousands of kids - great kids, smart kids - kids who would give anything for the chance that you have......do you have ANY idea how petulant and spoiled you sound?

you got into all of them and r so unappreciative! some people would kill to be in ur position. I happen to be going to exeter and am slightly offended by ur comments. not everybody is a rich nerd.

Really...
Everything people have said above me is true.
You are being spoiled and ungrateful. I would trade places with you at any moment, but seeing as that's not possible... Jesus Christ, kid, just go and have fun!
You're gonna miss your best friend? Yes. But are you going to make new friends, maybe even better friends than you had at home? Hell yes, a dozen times over.
Like prepppp said, you're not going to get any sympathy.

I sympathize with you kid :P

If you were soooo distraught over this, you should have definately sent a letter or bomb the interview. Exeter's admission people are savy and have been around long enough to understand that if a student says "Please do not accept me, I was forced to apply" they would hold that in confidentially.

jon , didn't you attend Andover summer as well ? I agree poster would learn to love EA given an open mind

Don't pity yourself. And you are acting like a stuck up brat. Alot of people would murder for the chance to go. I know that the money isn't coming and I will have to work for 4 months if/when I get accepted. I promise you... It wouldn't be hard to tell the Exeter admissions office to decline you if you explained your situation. Since you didn't do it... You are going to get BLESSED with the chance of a life time.

Don't **** away this opportuinity.

I agree with everyone. You wine you get yelled at. You pretty much just whined about getting into the yale/harvard/BEST school in the country.(Debatable but for all aspects of this post please assume it it).

You are so extremely lucky!! I would give anything to be you!! I'm applying for next fall, and I don't even know if I'll get in. Be grateful, have fun. You will meet a lot of amazing people. Besides, there's no turning back now.

The awesome brattyness exhibited in the original poster seems a bit unreal.

I smell a troll.
