What is the layout of the SAT? How many sections of each subject is on the test? I just want to know if it is anything like the psat's.

The ideal SAT would have 9 sections, and 1 extra one that you don't know about that's experimental. Excluding the experiment, there are 49 writing questions, 67 critical reading, and 54 math. 3 sections of math, one with grid-ins as well as MC, 2 writing sections, one with 35 questions and one with 14, and 3 CR sections (two with 24 questions, one with 19). The essay is the 1st section.

Thanks. That is way different from the psat's. Why does it have to be this difficult???

The question material is not harder - the test is just longer. While there was nothing to represent the essay portion on the PSAT, it is fairly easy and the topics are extremely open ended. The most important part of prepping for me was to become used to the long periods of intense focus required, not the types of questions.

cool advice, thanks
