beauty and the geek is hilarious haha. good show

the scholar is retarded. these students arent all that bright. what are they doing on this show?

Nirvana, they DO already have scholarships. But if someone will pay me 250k to answer some questions and act cute and friendly, I sure will AUDITION and GET ON THAT SHOW.

But yah, there are so much better ways to use highschool/college students for media money.

I would have been offended if someone had just started walking around asking how much my family made. However, I was distracted because everyone's families made over 50,000...

... I definitely answered all the Bio questions and I know crap about Bio. I took a freshman bio course 4 years ago in high school, that's it.

/not impressed

I think that Scott, Melissa, and Jeremy are pretty smart.

eek harsh words for the contestants. I think they are all bright ambitious people. With all the emphasis on teen issues concerning sex and alcohol and other crap, here's a group a of teens that know what they want in life and strive to succeed in the positive way. Remember the rest of teens across America are not in AP classes, attend a high school where you need to be accepted at, hang out at collegeconfidential.com, think about college applications junior year (senior year for that matter too) or get depressed when they get a C on a test or paper.

That I have the will to succeed and I will be starting Plebe Summer in 10 days, yes it's personal. The people in my high school lack motivation and most end up at a community college, army, or work full time at the same place they're been working at since they were 15. This year for the first time in the school's history we sent not one but two girls to Yale. It's good to have a show about overachievers to be, I guess, better role models.

Please disregard my previous post in this thread as I have been advised that this information is incorrect.

I just watched tonight's episode. Do you think Davis cheats in next week's episode?

Dude, the round tonight was actually hard. At first, it was rather easy, but they grow in difficulty.

Other than Milana and Scot, who is the other 50,000 winner? I believe it is Jeremy, but I'm not sure.......

My close friend, Jeremy Tran, is on The Scholar. There is no doubt that he's extremely intelligent. Just graduated as Valedictorian and going to Harvard. From what I hear, all the contestants are smart in different subjects -- not just academically. In my opinion, everyone has something impressive on their resume that the other contestants don't have. What I find funny is that they use JUST academics for the finals and nothing else. The show is sort of weak. For some reason, nearly every contestant had their opportunity to score 50,000 bucks. I believe the judges base their decisions so all the contestants get a chance on the spotlight. So the next two episodes should be interesting.

So, of course I'm rooting for Jeremy!

Helix, It was Melissa

I admit, the show is pretty lame. The premise is there, but the presentation of the show is lackluster. You have to realize what's going on through the contestants' head.

Obviously, it's easier for one to just sit back on the sofa, in a calm and collected state to answer a few questions than it is for someone to be on stage, in the spotlight, with millions of people watching, and answering questions.

Albeit, the questions were rather lame. And I agree, the truly bright, economically disadvantaged kids will have already gotten needbased scholarships. I'd rather see a bunch of bright students who were slackers in high school and ended up not getting any scholarships compete for scholarships than kids who would have succeeded either way compete. Maybe the kids on The Scholar were chosen for their personality, but then again, from what I've seen, personality is lacking in some of them. Or maybe, you smart-asses complaining should have taken the time to place an audition tape in yourself.

Looks like Davis screwed up.... :X

shows he got a bad score on sat

First rule of reality TV: Never boast. Boasters go down in flames.

But I do feel pretty sorry for him; he obviously knew the material backwards and forwards.

omg TI83 fight! that's hilarious!
