I’ve pretty much had that “The admissions committee is current reviewing…April 1st” status for a month or two now. I honestly thought I had a pretty good shot at getting in. Stats:

3.9 UW/4.7 W GPA
Rank 6 of 551
Public School; Las Vegas, NV
2010 SAT score: Reading 680; Math 670; Writing 660
Subject SAT’s: 690 Lit ; 660 Math II
AP’s: AP World History (4) AP Lang & Comp (4) AP U.S. History (3), AP Music Theory [In progress: AP Calclulus, AP Physics, AP Government, AP Lit & Comp, AP Statistics, AP Computer Science]
Lots of officer positions in music, EC’s, sports; great essay and Recs.
I have family on faculty and/or alumni (aunts and uncles)
Major: CLAS; Anthropology

I know the SAT score’s a little borderline but I figured everything else would give me a better shot. Now I’m seriously losing hope after checking the mailbox day after day, as well as those darn enrollment links. Blehhh.

You guys! Stop worrying. You’re all qualified. You have a full two weeks to get accepted. Just take a deep breath and relax. :)

Finally…

"Undergraduate Application (Part II, Fall 2010)
Your application has been forwarded for committee review. "

JEALOUS! good luck! (:

tornados, I don’t even know if “forwarded” means anything but I’m still happy for you because it DOES mean that you’re moving along in the process and are one step closer to knowing a decision! :)

jrtingson…Thanks.

I would be a very, very borderline admit if I get in. It is not that I cannot succeed at USC, I can, but I am not your typical admit. If anyone else looked at my stats they would probably throw my app. in the trash. This is what impresses me, they have requested my mid-year grades, and now forwarded me to committee for review. I never expected any of that and just assumed my app. would not warrant review. It just proves to me how dedicated the Admissions staff is and how fairly they are reviewing all applications. Do not think they will ignore your app. just because you are not an NMS or highly qualified. If they didn’t ignore my app., they are not going to ignore anyone’s.

I believe that they are working their hardest to take a careful and diligent look at everyone and I for one, am very impressed. We need to all understand that it does all take a monumental amount of time.

Status for my S has changed.
Are these good sign? Any information???

i haven’t checked before so i have no idea if it changed or not

@dreamupsided0wn
Really???
He applied for Roski school. Don’t know how many got the official package from USC, but many others in his school got the package today. ( SCAL)
Hopefully, you are right!!! No YOU MUST BE RIGHT!!! =)
Thanks,

Wow, Roski…great school.

@Dream

Read your FAQ page! Save many hours and very informative… thanx…

Dream~~thanks, it actually was really nice to see my status finally change. I must have stared at it for five minutes waiting for it to disappear or change back lol.

this has been said before, but it looks like it holds true,
how many applicants who applied to marshall have the reviewed/forwarded?
Also did any marshall applicants get in this last round?
If not, then maybe marshall is moving slowly, so that those who were considered as a YES for marshall are now forwarded, and those (like me) who probably aren’t were sent back to their original admission ppl for review to see if they are good for USC w/o marshall then forwarded to committee review.
Can anyone support my claim?

@Elle4Luck
Same!!! Borderline scores but above GPA…except I’m not a genius writer either although I’ve put in my best effort ><

@seniori
I don’t have a definite anwser to your other questions since everything now is just speculation, but there have been several marshall applicants who just got their acceptances in the last around. A very small number though, like only 2 or 3 have posted on this board.

And yeah to all the other Marshall applicants, it does seem to me that Marshall is moving along pretty slowly and very few of us have been accepted or even forwarded. So I would stop worrying too much since it doesn’t really have to do with individual cases?

Good Luck to all!!

I recieved a letter Early February to submit my Mid-year grades online as soon as they are available. Feb. 24 was the day I knew my semester grades and the day I posted it. Since that day my status was something along the lines of “Your application is being reviewed. We have received your midyear report and require no further information at this point”. Last Friday, I heard back from UCLA and let me just say the decision was not in my favor so I immediately checked USC hoping for some sign. It was still the same status. I hadnt checked it until today and low and behold sometime between last Friday and today my status went from the aforementioned to “Undergraduate Application (Part II, Fall 2010)
Your application has been forwarded for committee review” My grades are above average, I am an A.P. student, and my SAT scores are the highest in my grade even though they’re not that extremely stellar (2040). Ooo and I applied to Viterbi School of Engineering. What do you guys think?

@leastbitperfect, if this makes you feel any better, your stats sound extremely similar to my own (2040, AP student, Viterbi, above average GPA, even our school sounds similar, our highest was 2070) and if the “back door method” has any credibility then I got admitted sometime today.

What’s the “back door method”?

Well good luck to you @TrojAndrew hope we both get in
