The Summer Program

I am a sophomore considering the calculus summer program at Chicago. Is it hard to get into? How rigorous is it? Do most people enjoy it? Any other info is appreciated! Thanks:)

It costs about $8.9 x 10^54 per class.
Or something like that . . .

Hey, I'm not bitter. I wanted to go for Arabic classes, but I'm not a multi-millionaire.

Its a little ridiculous when it works out 30-40% cheaper to go to Israel for an Arabic class, counting all expenses.

That's hilarious Panther. I want to learn arabic too :)

idk...I believe that it was about 2,000-3,000 per class. Does anyone else know anything?

Tuition: $2,200 per course
(Residential high school students must take at least 2 courses.)
Room and Board: $425 per week (Summer quarter should be about 11 weeks)
Residential Program Fee: $275
Health Service Fee: $155 (required; estimate, actual cost may differ)
Student Health Insurance: $555 (optional; estimate, actual cost may differ)
It adds up pretty quickly... I don't think taking a calculus course over the summer will be worth it since everyone takes it their first year anyway... but it'll probably help you when you apply to universities! I've also heard that the summer courses are pretty intense...but if you only take two courses I'm sure you'll have plenty of time to be able to explore Chicago! :)

thanks for the info!

I am a sophomore and just wanted a program that would help me to get through Calc 3 by the end of hs. I figure that it will help me to get into the college of my dreams. Also, it would be a great college experience:)

I see that you are the class of 08 lol. Do you like it at U of C ( I am assuming that that is where you go)?
