I have been distracted by World Cup, was surprised to see Serena lose.

Happy to see Serena lose. Lots of wonderful new talent in the womens’ game.

So glad she’s out and the comms will finally stop talking about how she won after losing early at the RG two years ago.

Unfortunately, they will spend the next three days dissecting this loss ad nauseam no matter who is on court or who has advanced in the draw.

Winning moment.

<a href=“Cornet knocks Serena Williams out of Wimbledon 2014 - YouTube”>Cornet knocks Serena Williams out of Wimbledon 2014 - YouTube;

So, back to back interviews on ESPN with Serena and Federer, both 32. Serena in after match press conference - self absorbed, petulant, seems to still think she is #1 even though she’s not playing like it (hooray). Roger giving in studio interview - balanced, yet professional attitude. No sense of entitlement, just classy. I understand she was a loser and he was a winner, but I think their attitudes go a long way towards their results.

“They play like they’re in the ATP against me, and then like normal the rest of the time, so it’s not easy being me.” - Serena Williams.

She is such a poor loser.

I really didn’t like it when she shook her fist at Cornet. Yes, she’d just made a great shot, but it was very unsportsmanlike.

SI’s john Wertheim’s Wimby prediction:

Ladies:

Semifinals: Serena Williams vs. Carla Suarez Navarro, Li Na vs. total surprise (Julia Goerges?)

Finals: Serena Williams vs. Li Na

Winner: Serena Williams

All out before 2nd week.

=))

Men:

Semifinals: Grigor Dimitrov vs. Novak Djokovic; Roger Federer vs. Milos Raonic

Final: Grigor Dimitrov vs. Roger Federer

Winner: Roger Federer

Kiss of Death.

Nice to see Feli through to 4th rd.

Not on fan of Kerber but anyone who takes Maria out gets a big WELL DONE from me.

7 mps. Thought for sure she would choke.

Is Serena on drugs? I can’t believe she tried to play.

Glad that Kerber beat Sharapova, but will be routing for Eugenie Bouchard in the next round. Surprised to see Nadal go down, but, he had been struggling every round so I guess I shouldn’t be. I was actually surprised that Venus and Serena didn’t pull out after they both lost, but was not expecting that bizarre behavior. I am not sure what to think. Crossing my fingers that Federer continues to cruise.

What is wrong with Serena? Has there been a press conference?

Supposedly a virus but I don’t buy it at all. Either she took some drug or went on a two day bender since her loss to Aliza. I think her ego can’t take the loses.

Over the moon about the young Aussie’s win over Rafa!! I’m going to have to get my Fanatics t-shirt out. Maybe they’ll finally be able to get back into the World Group and stay there.

Roger is looking good so far but hard to really know how well he’s playing as his draw has been a walk in the park so far.

Lots of great matches today.

I thought the women’s matches today were meh.

As for the men - disappointed Marin lost but a good effort the first three sets. Thrilled Dimi won. Shame NK didn’t make a match of it - but for only his second slam ever, nothing to be ashamed of. I’ve decided watching Milos is as boring as watching paint dry.

Haven’t watched Roger/Stan yet.

Go Genie and Milos! Go Canada go! :)

Petra, please do not eff it up. Thx.

9-0

The Djokovic match was very exciting, Fed seemed to cruise. Looking forward to Sunday
