The Trojan Transfer Plan

If we accumulate credits from IB/AP courses in HS, do we transfer to USC in spring?

Yes, it is okay to attend UCSB the first year and apply to transfer next year. First to be in the TTP, you have to make an appointment to meet with a USC counselor. The counselor will lay out a transfer plan (generally take USC transferable GE courses and meet a minimum GPA, 3.6+?). Both the student and the counselor will sign the agreement plan. It is still not a guarantee if the requirements are met. Spaces available will also depend on attrition (current USC students dropping out for various reasons, i.e.,grades, financial, etc.).

Does anyone here who was offered the TTP also have the Tuition Assistance Benefits because their parents work at USC? Are the benefits applicable to students in their first year if they study abroad through TTP?

Good to know. I’ve submitted my SIR for UCSB, so my plan is to attend the school for a year, and then hopefully transfer to USC as a sophomore. I’m going to schedule the appointment in May, and then I’ll meet with a counselor in June. Hopefully everything works out.

@kettlecorn , my guess is that your wonderful benefit won’t apply to your study abroad school because you won’t be a USC student during that time (and there’s nothing to stop you from staying at your study abroad school, which has happened before). I don’t remember that issue coming up here though, so please talk to your USC counselor and report back!

@CCMThreeTimes Yea probably just wishful thinking but I have emailed my USC counselor and will keep this thread posted when he replies. Do you know whether or not the schools offer financial aid and scholarships to TTP students?

@kettlecorn14 I’m not sure which school you’re thinking of attending, but American University in Paris TTP students have reported that they complete a financial aid form for the school, and many (all?) reported receiving a scholarship + financial aid that made attending less expensive than USC. The AUP counselors helped students complete the FA forms. Even though you’re a student, I recommend joining the parent’s Facebook group – the families who have been through the program have had overwhelmingly positive experiences and can answer your questions with firsthand experience. Search for USC TTP Parents of Students Abroad.

@kingshahhh same! see you at UCSB and hopefully at USC

Has anyone heard back from Rome? I recieved my denial letter with the invitation to join the TTP. Also, I just recieved my acceptance packet for AUP by mail. I’m still waiting for my admission descison from John Cabot University, which is where I want to spend the year. Is there anyone whomst’d’ve (who) is in the same position as I am?

how do i sign up for AUP? I received the trojan transfer plan

@magiebaste Ayyy you’re going to UCSB?! Hopefully we both can transfer into USC

@AnArcticMonkey This is the current TTP thread. :slight_smile:

@CADREAMIN I’m aware…

How do we shoot questions to experienced TTP students?

Oh sorry, you had a question on the old transfer thread, just wanted to be sure you knew that…btw, they use all of June and into July for meetings.

@AnArcticMonkey I think it was an odd time to close the 2020 thread just as those TTP students were posting their acceptances to USC and could speak to that phase in the process, but hopefully those students will now post on this thread (and of course you can always PM them)

@CADREAMIN do they use all weeks of June? @CCMThreeTimes thank you

@ccmthreetimes - My bad totally, didn’t even think of that. Saw a few questions hanging out there with no response for awhile - didn’t think of people coming back a year later to update, we moved to follow transfer thread during spring 2016 as it was very active with TTP and regular transfer conversation. Here is this year’s transfer thread incase anyone wants to check it out.

Hi, I was offered the ttp and am currently considering going to AUP. But my major of choice is computer science, and i dont know if I can transfer to USC with that major from AUP. Anyone knows if computer science is a transferable major through the TTP?
