There is some animosity brewing at my school as we wait for the SCEA results...

The only other SCEA applicant I know is one of my good friends, and he RAVES about the place, as opposed to me, who prefers to keep it private.

I think if you refrain from talking about the application process and know that your self-worth does not depend on a college admission, you should be fine.

Up until a couple of days ago, I didn't really mind the wait...
Now it's killing me!
GAAAHH!

2 weeks 4 days 23 hours and 14 minutes :)

School has been keeping me busy so far; over the break we have to read 200 pages of Death Comes to the ArchBishop. In addition I have a couple of low reach/match schools that I like and will apply to, Uchicago and Rice. It's not so bad now that my app has been in for a month now.

There has been some faux animosity at my school between kids who have applied to the same place early. Mostly jokes like "Hey, you know it's not too late to rescind your application..."

But yeah, the wait is horrible. Has anyone else found themselves compulsively wanting to check their app status even though they know everything is peachy-keen a-okay? Because I have. I hope no one (and I don't just mean AOs, I mean anyone) looks at my log-in record in case they think I am a crazy person.

weeeee're off to see the wizard!

the wonderful wizard of oz!

Don't worry, hellosail.
I check my application status as if the login count will up my chances of getting in.

.... woah

Way to completely ignore my post asiantofu. This will be noted, rest assured.

Hahaha. I'm sorry, eating food.
The poppies made me fall asleep before I could finish the post, and a flying monkey hit submit.

I check my status on that site a lot, too, but I actually do have a teacher rec missing. I need to call them tomorrow.
There's no animosity at my school that I've heard of since neither of the other two knows I applied. But between other earlies, there's some undercover animosity. Whatever. I have bigger things to worry about...
And Rice, name/prestige aside, is *so *similar to Yale but plopped down in Texas (though that factor does actually make a huge difference...)--I love it also.

20 days from now, and we'll all know

Peytoncline:

have you ever considered auditioning for dancing with the stars?

It's really subtle, toned-down animosity. Usually peeks out by way of gossip...
Like winning verbal wars will help anyone actually get into Yale.

dancing with the stars??

umm, no

I don't think the wait is that bad..
It's just weird thinking that in 20 days I will have my first college decision (or deferral).

It still seems really long to me. 2 full weeks of school still...

Oh wow. The Yale SCEA tension over here just reached its peak. I just received about 7 calls in a row from various people passing on gossip. After a while, I just started ignoring the callers... This is all so petty.

Good thing we CCers are here to tough out the wait together!

Yayy i'm applying RD to Rice too! And I actually view the Texas thing as a plus - who wouldn't love 65-degree days in January? But convincing my parents to let me go that far (East Coast here) might be difficult =/

Anyway, only 2 weeks!!!!!! (if you don't count Thanksgiving break, since that will hopefully be fun and relaxing :) )

There has been no tension between applicants for me, since I'm the only one from my town applying (that I know of). One of my best friends applied ED to Penn, so we're both kind of sweating it out, though he'll know a day before I do.
