Maybe that one amazing guy improved his application after the first time, mistofthekane. That's always a possibility. I'm trying to keep an optimistic outlook, but......if you read my earlier post, I did make some mistakes.

I'm operating in the worst case scenario.i.e getting things in place for the regular round.

So when I'm deferred (hopefully I won't be rejected!), will I really be given a serious look RD?

Haha sweet I found a typo in my additional info sheet. Reeeeeeject.

I had some formatting errors.

Oh yeah, I think that the only way to try and stay sane is to not assume you'll get rejected, but to assume you'll be deferred. That's my worst case scenario (I hope it really is worst case). Does anyone know the percentage of people who get in RD who were deferred EA?

^ No one knows the answer to this :(

But I think it's safe to assume that the percentage isn't that great.

In all honesty I don't think I will be outright rejected but you never know.
To stay sane, I will be applying to match schools in the coming days. I wish the private schools were rolling so I don't have to drown in misery until March 1 (my first non-Yale decision) or April 1 (the rest).

So, while you're waiting, you could get another perspective on life at Yale.... some dudes in one of the residential colleges have a blog about student life at Yale:

Timothy Dwight

Facebook generally occupies as much time as you want it to (generally more, in most cases...)

Also, trying to wade my way through the grossly thick text of Heart of Darkness for AP Lit, ugh ><

I have so much homework I COULD be doing to take up my time, but I'm baking instead =)
I'm going on a college visit trip Friday-Monday and when I get back, I have to start studying for midterms, so after Thursday the time should start going much more quickly.
BTW, that blog just made me want to go to Yale more :(

Hahahaha I know one of the bloggers. He was a legend.

Honestly, I was perfectly fine with the wait. I got my application in towards the beginning of October (my mom's very much type A and made me do it then), and since then until yesterday I was able to ignore it. Until I had my interview. It went so well that I got pumped up about Yale, so now I have to wait an unbearable two weeks.

pshan, I'm doing the exact same thing!

:(

I submitted 11/1 at like 11:40 pm lol

Me too, lol
Hopefully it won't count against us, I'd like to say I turned down Yale instead of vice versa.

Yeah, hopefully we make it to committee where it really won't matter.

Haha, I'm just hoping that maybe I'll get some extra points for applying so early. I need them quite a bit. I still have a few apps left that I just got apathetic for.

^^ I need to finish some apps before the 15th. :(

party! woot woot! staying occupied and knowing there is nothing you can do about it now makes it go faster. relax!
