Don't worry, there was an article in the NYT saying that Upenn would let in 90 off the waitlist. In that article it quoted someone who basically said that there would be ripples every time one college decided to let people in. So you still have a shot if someone who committed to penn gets off Harvard's or Columbia's etc. waitlists....

I am using my son's account posting the new update of his status on wlist. He received a call from UPen and askinging if he is still interested. He said yes. He was told to bet official email by Saturday, but , instead, an email said it was delayed to Monday. On friday, when he was leaving, the concolar said she received an email, but not read it yet.
So we are still cross the finger on it.
Oh, he is applying for Whaton
Hope all of you on the wait list good luck.
ez

Hi all: we got the admission email at 12:10 pm today. Wharton school. good luck to you all.

I also got into Wharton! My regional rep. e-mailed me today! I am so pumped!

congrats guys!!

Decisions haven't been made yet..

MMmmm well congrats to the people that say the got accepted (if it's true).. I don't know I just called today and talked to the admissions office and they said clearly that decisions were going to start being sent out on Friday May 16th.. I asked if it was true that they had notified students and they told they would start this friday.. they need to see ALL the applications since everybody is qualified to be in the class of 2012.. so again, im not trying to let down other ppl who said they're in (there might be exceptions i dont know) BUT for everybody else, keep in mind that decisions haven't been made yet and it's going to be on a rolling basis...

I'm not lying :) However, it could just be that my regional rep. let me know in advance and that my official package, along with all others, will be sent out on Friday.

Regardless, Wharton 2012!

Yeah, likewise here. Or the later date could be like what happened with my friend and Harvard. They told him the name of the wrong regional officer to send his letter to, and he didn't find out until the last week of April. As long as it's not another Northwestern.

w00t, Wharton 2012!

I'm in. SEAS. Notified yesterday

i spoke to the admissions office today and this was the convo:

Me: "So, you know, I've been hearing that people are getting off the waitlist and stuff. I was wondering if you have made all the decisions yet."

Office person: "Well, the New York Times article said we were going to take around 90 students off the list so I don't think we have gone through EVERYone yet. There are still a couple people we're trying to reach out to."

Any thoughts?

PS - kinetoz, how were you notifiied on a Sunday?

Will Penn be offering some sort of accepted students day for the waitlisted applicants OR anything along the lines of tours/getting to meet current Penn students?

It's very doubtful that there will be an accepted students' day. At other schools waitlists require you to tell them of your final decision within 24 hours, and that most definitely doesn't allow for a visit. If you are questioning your desire to go to Penn, visit now and then you can decide that it is your first choice and you want to wait it out, or that it isn't and you can take yourself off the WL and spare yourself the waiting.

how many days have you people (who have been taken off) given to respond to the offer of admission?

I'm guessing that that information will come with their "official" notification on Friday.

@slim2none: how do you know that the official decisions are going to go out on friday? and does that mean that anyone who has not been taken before that would be rejected? dont tell me!

Ok, so I can't find it now, but I feel like somewhere I read that they will be sending official emails on Friday and that anything up to this point has been regional officers telling people to get ready for that one. As to whether there will be official rejections, I'm not positive, but I remember a post of someone who said that if your application was reviewed by the committee you will get an acceptance or a rejection. Again, all of this is secondhand, so don't freak out.

I would suspect that they won't be rejecting any waitlistees any time soon. With the extensive waitlist action currently ongoing at other schools (HYP, etc.), there are going to be ripple effects in Penn's class, and they'll want to keep waitlist admission possibilites open for at least another month or so.

i was told today they had called all the people accepted from the first round of waitlist admissions... i don't know if that helps anyone, just putting it out there

trackie10x, who do you talk to? nobody tells me any thing!!! this is so annoying.

I hope the people accepted off the waitlist get their official packages soon ... the financial aid offer is going to be a huge factor in my decision of whether to accept Penn's offer of admission.
