The Waitlist Topic

Did you guys finish your 200 word prompt yet?

No, not yet. I am still coming up with ideas. How about you?

I’m not really sure how to answer the prompt. I mean, I pretty explained why I wanted to go to that University in my PS. I’m pretty sure begging/sympathy route is a terrible way to go with.

what 200 word prompt???

You’re on the UCI waitlist, right? I’m pretty sure the OP is talking about the UCSD waitlist (or perhaps Davis waitlist). You have to write a 200 word prompt for UCSD and UC Davis.

Man, this prompt is so getting in the way. It’s another thing to worry about with finals happening this week.

I agree. I’m actually really annoyed with this whole process. I really dislike deciding on the last minute which school I am going to be going to.

What are you thinking about writing about? I’m going to write about my interest in undegrad research.

I’m still not sure. I feel that I had already prompt question in my PS. So, I’m not sure if it’s wise to use those same points again.

Well UCSD doesnt read your PS so…

why do you say that

I heard UCSD doesn’t read your PS too. I called them and asked them if they were going to read our waitlist statements and they said, “they might.”

Sounds like the transfer waitlist statement prompts are the same across the UCs: “why you would like to attend UC XX.”

I recommend focusing on these topics for your waitlist statement:

Why you are the right student for this UC campus. For example, what characteristics, personalities, traits do you bring to the campus? How will you contribute to the student body and/or the campus community?

Why is this UC right for you? For example, what unique opportunities will the campus offer you that you cannot get anywhere else and how do you intend to take advantage of those opportunities?

Honestly, I want to write my sentiments about UCSD in my waitlist essay. I’m going to another school anyway so… lol.

@iZychr

Please don’t opt-in to the waitlist if you know you’re not going to UCSD. If you get admitted off the waitlist, you’ll take away someone’s spot who really wants to be there.

@Anacondrea
Don’t worry, I didn’t bother.

Welp, I heard UCD has 2000 students on the waitlist.

I hope the waitlist option pans out for us. As time goes by, I’m leaning more and more towards UCSD.

According to ucsd’s newspaper its only 1500 that were offered wait list.

Really? That’s not bad. Have you accepted your waitlist offer yet, Random_Monkey?

Ya I accepted it on Sunday. Think they will let people in off of it?
