The whole process has been a huge pain. Help me become a better writer.

So I have two requests:
By the 11/1 deadline I want to improve my writing skills from mediocre to good so that these essays come easier. Please give me a regiment that will improve my level. I want to jump from this terrible level of writing.

I thought that my problem with my essays was that I told but didn’t show. I ended up trying to show but wrote a choppy essay in the hopes of making it dramatic. So now I am focusing on smoothness yet it just won’t come. Furthermore my essays seem to be of little substance.
Please help me find a overarching purpose for my essays so that I don’t just wind my words around some crappy road and also please help me make my writing smoother and more peaceful for the mind.

It’s a bit rude of you to say someone else is trying to sound like Shakespeare, then, isn’t it? Maybe it’s just you seeing a more formal style of writing as weird…?

Anyway. Do you read much? Perhaps we could suggest short pieces so that you can read them and examine what works about their styles, rhythm, and flow.
