The word "Nasty"...

Hey. so i dunno about you. i live in Mass. And at my school everyone says "nasty" in the context like it is "cool". Like, "man, these shoes are naassstty!" Im used to it meaning
"disgusting" or something like that. So anyway what does "nasty" mean where u live? lol.

Only the conventional: disgusting. I've never heard it used in any other context.

Hmm.......

Nasty = perverted. Or really mean.

"Nasty" here means disgusting, gross. But when we play baseball, a good pitch with lots of movement is also "nasty."

We use "sick" for "cool" here though. Not "nasty," though.

We use "sick" and "nasty". O correction. I use "sick". Not nasty. haha.

i live in NY and some people use " nasty" in the the context of cool or jus sumtin that is so crazy.

ex. "that football player is nasty" meaning he's good

Southern Ohio Slang-

nasty= disgusting
ex: "OMG, did you see her outfit today? She always looks so nasty."

sick= cool
ex: "Those new boots are sick."

fly= cool
ex: "You look fly today."

hella_= really _ (can be used in front of any adjective)
ex: "Oooh, her hair is hella fly."

Slang is constantly morphing with the generations. One thing that always kills me is when Randy Jackson from American Idol is always calling everybody (even girls) "man". Also, when girls call each other "dude". This is quite common, but still kills me.

Wow, I have never heard anyone say "sick," "fly," or "hella" in real life this century. When I go to NorCal, I hear "sick" and "hella" a lot... but that was like a decade ago.

i guess you've never been to southern ohio. we like to throw it back.

we say all that in mass too. Siick is most commonly used.

"you're looking quite snazzy today"
anyone say that? maybe that's just me

or "Hey Mr.McFly ;)" .. i don't say that, but other kids do
slick is also used. . actually only 1 teacher says that

kid falls on the floor
teacher: hey slick, get up

HAHA nasty?? in cali we say nasty like "gross", "perverted", or "mean".

i watch That's so Raven, and whenever she sees someone that annoys her, she quietly mutters, "ya nastehhhh"

"you're looking quite snazzy today"

:) I do.

Nasty = Filthy

"That's filthy!"
ex. Showy moves at a pick-up game

Nasty = dirty, disgusting, ew
Nasty = freakish, kinky
Nasty = cool, nice, good (i.e. Leinhardt is a nasty QB)

sicknasty is another term we use.

I've never heard any of that southern OH slang, and I live in southern OH...

Oneiros, do you live in Dayton?

hahaha greenday, i live in massachusetts as well and people in my school don't really say nasty as much anymore, now people use "sick" haha. so you must be familiar with the whole "wicked cool/wicked awesome" thing. oh man i love it here.
