Can everyone sign into student central at the same time during drop/add?

If you're first on the waitlist for a class, are you automatically added first as soon as someone drops it?

If there are plenty of history/philosophy classes, then I suppose it's a good thing since my major is leaning toward the humanities. However, the pre-med student side of me is freaking out since I need to take a Bio and Chem. I'm going to CTOPS near the end of this week and I am not any less stressed out.

I promise your lives will continue. Nearly all freshmen are in each and every one of your positions. Once again, Add/Drop solves nearly everything.

divinevalley- you will get into Bio 101 whether it's through Add/Drop or going to the first day of class unregistered and talking to your professor

hahathatsfunny13- Everyone can sign onto studentcentral if they want. and Yes, if you are first on the waitlist you are added first to the class as soon as the first person drops it.

narcolepticSPOOF- You will need Gen Ed requirements so don't dismiss those, they are as important as major classes becauses you can't graduate without fulfilling all of the requirements.

When does drop/add begin?

welcome to carolina--you'll probably continue to have this problem until you're a junior. my registration last semester (I had 66 at the time of registration) for this fall semester was the first time that the process went somewhat smoothly for me. but don't worry though, some professors will add you to the class if you go the first day and ask, esp. if there aren't too many other students trying to get in as well.

citymiddle, i think it begins the first day of classes, and then ends after the first week. but you might want to get some verification on that.

Drop/add begins on August 4th.

What time on August 4th?

at the crack of dawn...

high noon!

I just got back from CTOP's and I got everything that I wanted!!!(except waitlisted #1for math 233). Some people were just bad at registering and other people snatched up the classes before them, but other than that it was much easier than expected!!!!

I don't even schedule classes until August 15th(The last CTOPS session) will I still be able to use add/drop to change classes easily, or will everything be pretty much fixed by then, and I will have to stick with what I get?

What! I really really don't think drop/add begins on August 4th, especially when the last CTOPS and TSOPS hasn't even happened yet. From what I can remember, drop/add begins at 7am and at least last year opened the saturday before classes started.

On the official advising calendar (http://regweb.unc.edu/calendars/docs/SumFall2008reg.pdf)

It doesn't say when drop/add begins, but it does show when it ends, and also the last CTOPS session.

Drop add starts on August 4(This was said maybe 100 during registration to comfort those who were crying)!!! Graj08, I don't know how drop add will work for you, but it is certainly possible to get the schedule you want even though you are the last CTOPs because they reserve a set amount of spots in each class for each CTOP's session. Good Luck

I guess it's the two of us, graj...

CTOPS tomorrow. O.o;

Unless everyone gets an email from the advising team stating drop/add is August 4th, I wouldn't believe it since drop/add is almost always the Saturday before classes start. Disregard me if I'm totally wrong ha. Drop/add opens registration for EVERYONE- so hypothetically if it was on August 4th that would mean that the OOS going to the last CTOPS & transfer students could just register for classes then.

Page 25 of the 2008-2009 First Year Guide says drop/add begins on August 4th.

At CTOPS this week, we were told August 4
