There were no likely letters sent to international students

I know it's a bit late, but my friend just called Cornell. This is just to reassure those of us who were international and hoping for a likely letter.

does that include internationals living in the US? because i got a likely letter/event invitation from NYU Stern, and i'm an international living in Houston

NYU isn't cornell

This is a bit comforting

Does this include Canada?
claws

This really reassures me. Thanks for the info :)

guys i hate to tell you this but i know of a friend in china who got a likely from hotel. are you sure the admission officer knows what she's talking bout or just hotel is sending out likelies.

This includes Canada, since I'm from Canada. As for likely from China, I didn't think Hotel gave likelies. Are you sure it wasn't just an acceptance?

positive it's a likely. ivy doesn't give acceptance earlier than march 31. they have a common reply date.

no, it was an acceptance letter. Hotel school doesn't send out likely's and they are allowed to send their letters sooner because they're "rolling" (with ILR and CALS)

good, that would have been a bit dissapointing

yea you are probably right. I apologize sincerely for causing alarm. I'll double check with that guy. sorry for the alarm again.

That's another good news today! Thanks for that information:)

Certainly is comforting for most of us. I am wondering though, whether we will receive the mailed decisions by the 1st of April or could it be much after for internationals living in places further away than others.

to my fellow int'ls: we'll get our notification on the internet on March 31st.....as far has mailed decisions don't expect it soon....

I'm in IB school and current holding GPA of 3.71 with Economics, Biology and Chemistry Higher level. Do i stand a chance in Cornell?

lol funny story - I now have 3 letters of acceptance from Cornell. I live in Dubai and got accepted ED and although they mailed the acceptance letters on the 19th of december, I hadn't received anything by early january and I had to receive to the letter before the 18th of January because the 18th was the deadline for sending them the deposit to secure a place for me and the envelope in which I had to send the deposit was part of the acceptance letter package. So I called them up and told them I hadn't received anything and they said they would send it again. A week later I still hadn't received anything and I called them again; this time they said they would courier the letter and I got my first acceptance letter soon after. Then a couple of weeks later I got the acceptance letter they'd mailed me all the way back in december. Finally late last month I got my third acceptance - the one they'd sent the first time I called them.

So yea all you internationals shouldn't expect to receive your letters anytime soon (unless they courier them which I doubt they will). haha good luck !

wow...to mal3889: a big congrats!!
after all that trouble though sometimes it gets so sour....like all my mail I receive it for the earliest a month after...so all the deadlines are all past...

I did get one.

I did get one and I am an international student living in Korea. I guess it takes longer for the letters to arrive, but cornell does send one to international students.
