So yeah. I have questions regarding supplemental letters of recommendation. Should the Teacher send it on their own? Should I include it in a manila envelope if I'm sending out more stuff? What should I do?

Ah... Its times like these that I wish I lived at home so I could ask my parents for help more easily.

You can send it to them in one large envelope if you like but have your teachers sign the back of their recommendation envelopes so that they know the letters are confidential. That is what I would do.

I wonder what percentage of applicants Pitzer waitlisted and how many of the applicants accepted their spots on the waitlist.

out of curiosity, how did you guys hear of pitzer college and what aspect of it made you fall in love with it?

1 son attends Harvey Mudd.

Small class size.

Flexible curriculum.

No classes taught by grad students.

Good dorm and dining facilities.

Also, the ability to take classes at the other 5C campuses.

Alright then...

I've asked two of my teachers to write additional recommendations for me. One of them is my English teacher and the other is a Chorale director. Is this too much?

Also, should I submit the Bio and English term exams I mentioned earlier?

Lastly... I've been communicating with my admissions counselor via email. Would a follow up letter via snail-mail be a good idea?

EDIT: Also, should I send it all at once or let my teachers send their recs individually?

My sister is trying desperately to get off of a waitlist right now. She emailed the school a LOCI and her high school is mailing a package containing a letter from her, a letter from the principal, a letter from the dean of students, a letter from her GC, a recommendation from a professor at the school she's waitlisted at (he's also from the program she's interested in and his recommendation notes that he'll come in and personally vouch for her capabilities), updated grades (very good), and an updated list of ECs/leadership. It's also very, very likely that she'll arrange a personal visit to admissions.

This was all at the advice of a professor from the school.

I think sending everything at once is the way to go. It's easier for the school to process, there's less likelihood of the info getting separated/lost/ignored, and it emphasizes the extent of work you've put in to gathering new info.

Good luck :)

Oh how I love reviving old threads!

Ever since the current president stepped in, the admit rate has gone from like 56% to 15.7%, making it the ninth most selective LAC in the US.

Go Pitzer!

The list I saw had Pitzer’s 15.7% admit rate the fifth most selective LAC, after Amherst, Pomona, Claremont McKenna, and Swarthmore.

I wonder if kobe1federer1 has ever forgiven Pitzer…his attitude made me glad he went elsewhere. Pitzer is (1) a great school (2) definitely not for everyone (3) considers much, much more than test scores when making admission decisions. Go Sagehens!
