they've definitely made their decisions already!

my last name starts with G, my friend's last name starts with P. and she didn't get a scholarship...so i dunno :S.
i'm calling admissions now but they won't pick up.

"kk, They meet only 64% of financial need. Of that 64% they split it between 52% grants and 48% loans.

Of course, this is an average, and not everyone will have a package with those percentages. Also, this is assuming no merit aid."

I said decent.. I'm not expecting them to meet my need, no one else has.

The 52% 48% looks bad but that includes jobs which might include coop jobs which would distort the numbers. From calculating the average freshmen non need based grants and loans it appears more like 79% grants and 21% loans..

anyone who's list disappeared yesterday able to log in today?

they should have just done it online. what were they thinking.

here is the message at the bottom of my log on page:

Through our Application Status Check system, you are able to verify your personal information, view the required materials and check on necessary deadlines. You will receive an admission decision in writing, not through this system. Once all required materials have been received, your application will be forwarded to the admission committee for review

so are some of you saying you were actually able to find out online that you were accepted?

ok my name starts with a W, so I guess I shouldn't be freaking out YET!

We found out through myneu.. not the materials page. Myneu is a website for accepted students only and many people are able to log in before they actually get their acceptance letters.

My son got a snail-mail rejection letter today (we live in Boston). His college and majors were greyed out about 5 days ago - and his list disappeared two days ago. He was never able to log on to myNEU.

So, there is definitely NO connection between what happens to the list and being accepted. Happily, my son wasn't too sad about NE (pretty certain he wants to go somewhere outside Boston since he's lived here all his life).

Just thought I'd share the tale since it sounds like his was the first actual paper rejection letter!

Well kk, I hope the packages are decent.

We already figured out that there was no connecting between the list and being accepted.. the connection is the myneu account.

Karine, I am sorry. I am glad that he did not have his heart set on this school.

soooo anxious

sorry to hear of it, no doubt one of the thousands to come for many kids, likely myself. But like your son, this is not my first choice, its just nice to know someone else wants you (smiling!) My mom did call and they did confirm that many letters are going out and its totally random, rejections and acceptances plus waitlist letters in no order whatsoever, hope he gets in to his first choice. For all of us waiting, would you care to share his stats with us? Thank you.

its been over 24 hrs since list of materials disappeared and i still cant log in to myneu, guess im rejected

mike321: Don't give up hope! It may take more than a day, maybe even two or three...

My son's stats probably wouldn't be relevant to most of the other applicants because he was applying for NE's learning disabilities program, which is a smaller program within the University (students partake in the normal curriculum of their chosen college but with added support services that are paid for seperately). Although students must first gain admission to the University before being accepted into the LD program, the student's stats will always be viewed a bit differently by the admissions commitee due to their documented LD.

He has excellent grades and phenomenal recommendations but only average SAT scores - especially in math. He wouldn't have applied to NE if it didn't have the LD program and even with that, we felt it was too big, given his situation. Interestingly, his girlfriend goes there, so he spends loads of time there and knows it pretty well, but thinks he, personally will do better in a smaller environment.

Sorry to go on so long - just wanted to explain that his situation is not comparable to most of the rest of you. I am truly hoping that every one of you gets into at least one school that you really, really love. There will always be a silver lining to whatever happens - especially if you choose to look at it that way :-)

Has anyone been able to log into myNEU today? If so, where do u live?

i logged on this morning and got my letter in the afternoon and i live in jersey

when did your list disappear? everyone else giving up for the day?

my list disappeared thursday and im still not able to log in.. gonna try again monday but if i cant log in by monday night..imma take it as a rejection =</p>
