^ LOL no not true - but it has been a prank target for USC students who come and put detergent and red dye in it

Lol, I heard about the red dye thing. And then UCLA responded by acquiring a helicopter and using it to bomb the Trojan statue with manure, right? Lol

hey passerby which colls are u in?
I think Icarus is in ucla
How far is the USC campus from ucla; they aren't the best of friends right (is the rivalry something like cal and stan or less intense)

speaking of toilet, i heard they poured manure over USC statue from a helicopter.. it was a prank done long time ago =)

more intense---MUCH more.

USC is like 20 minutes away i think

hhhhhmmmmmmmmm sounds like fun :D

USC and UCLA have a very intense rivalry. The week of the football game is huge in LA! That really is one of our biggest sporting events of the year, and gets a huge amount of media coverage. Not sure what the UCLA vs. USC football game is like elsewhere (I've lived in the LA area my whole life), but I assume it does not get the coverage like it does here.

"Hey is it true that a USC engineer designed the inverted fountain, so that if you look at it with Franz Hall in the background, it looks like a giant toilet?"

that's urban legend.

"speaking of toilet, i heard they poured manure over USC statue from a helicopter.. it was a prank done long time ago =)"

on tommy trojan i believe. both tommy trojan and the bruin bear are covered up during rivalry week so no one can see nor touch them.

i heard USC students spread crickets into powell library during finals week one year. any truth to this?

i want to see something like this pulled at the coliseum this year:
www.harvardsucks.org

The traffic really isn't that bad....I made it home in 35 minutes and I don't live anywhere close to LA.

You just have to know when to go. ;-)

lol yeah and before that manure prank, UCLA ppl cut off the sword from the trojan statue and welded it to its a$$. hahaha

oh but USC later got back by putting detergents in our inverted fountain and making a bubbbble world around that around.

since then, pranks have been kept low, as lawsuits filed against each other mounted lol.

I forgot to mention something...

www.bombaybite.com

"i heard USC students spread crickets into powell library during finals week one year. any truth to this?"

Yeah, when I was on campus tour in UCLA, our tour guide mentioned that USC did that.

Which sports are the Bruins good at? Actually I just wanted to know in which games does ucla crush usc.

one of the best indian restaraunts in town is Bombay Cafe, i go there whenever my family is in town. it's off olympic (or pico) and a tad south of westwood, but it's very very very good.

Well, we have the most NCAA titles of any school, so a lot.

Does anybody like/hate anything about UCLA or LA?
How about the cost of living; is it significantly more than living on any other campus in CA?

certainly not more than Berkeley....lol. I've checked out the other UC's and UCLA is expensive, but not if you're used to California, or Los Angeles area rents.....I found it to be more than I'd "like" to pay, but definitely doable. I'll just have to quite doing a few annoying habits like eating, shopping......going out, you know, the non-essentials? lol

How fast is the connection at Ucla. Is it a T3 or T1??

On-campus has T3, but the way packets are handled is weird...
