oh..lol..no i didn't know that...nor do I know what sports teams you're talking about..but that's ok...

you know what I love about America? the Onion!

I LOVE THE ONION!

I thought the question with the Onion excerpt on the AP Lang/Comp exam was the most tasteful thing they could have come up with. It was awesome.

Yes the Indians are a cleveland area baseball team and the Browns are a cleveland area football team :p

Hate:
Ted Kennedy (blow hole)
Hillary Clinton (oh, I mean Rodham).

^^^ Good list razorsharp. Madonna turned 47 today

and then prompty broke a hip. im not kidding...

woody allen married his own child? I didn't even think that was legal

his adopted daughter.

Mia Farrow was his step daughter, not illegal, but slightly disturbing.

Love:
Freedom of speech

Hate:
When people like razorsharp use that protection to say silly things that they don't really mean.

mia farrow was his first wife, her adopted daughter is now his new wife. mia farrow (who starred in rosemarys baby) is no longer with woody allen.

love: The greatest public university also known as The University of Virginia.

Hate:

Rapid rise of prices (a.k.a inflation)

Prejudice (don't act like it don't exist just because it's more subtely done)

The greed driven capitalist economy (keep the working man down to exploit, a.k.a the dog-eat-dog mentality)

Educational system (the rich and well-off are not the only ones who should be getting a decent education because they can afford it)

Social infrastructures, such as welfare and the prison system (Sure, many abuse these when they actually can be beneficial to society, but these resources have been improperly integrated in society to cause any real social change. Simply, the ideas behind them are perfect but the mechanics are entirely flawed.)

The de-emphasis on education and a strong community. (Only America will frivolous entertainment, such as sports and films, be a mult-billion dollar industry when a number of schools are relatively dirt poor.

Love:

The land of opportunity. (America is one of the few countries where the negatives listed above can be changed through action, dreams, and hard work ethics.)

haha. it would have been funny, except for the fact that you live in WISCONSIN! if you were from an actual interesting state, like CA, FL, or NY, then you could have said that, but you aren't.

WI population=5,363,675
TX poplulation=20,851,820

apparently it looks like 4x as many people want to live in texas than wisconsin.

just for the record i don't like red states either. and i actually live in texas but hate it. i used to live in FL and loved it there. but you can't talk smack about a state if you live in wisconsin...i'm just sayin.

Love:
That you can choose to either hate or love America.

With that being said, i don't support Bush on most issues (I'm a moderate. haha)

Hey, as a 17 year old, I live where my parents live. I fully intend to live somewhere interesting when I have the practical option of doing so.
As you said: "i actually live in texas but hate it"
And I say: "I live in WI, and don't really like it either."

(I'd still take WI over TX. TX, from what I know, is hell on earth. With republicans crawling all over the place. Ick.)

And hey, at least WI went (marginally) blue in 04. Counts for something, right? (unless you are a republican, in which case, you've been in texas far too long.)

HATE:
Materialism/Consumerism/Capitalism
Nationalism (AKA super-patriotism)
Disdain for human rights
Demonization of the word "liberal"
Glamorization of the military (remember the Bush flight suit doll?)
Sexism and persecution of gays
Corporate controlled media
Obsession with national security
Control of government by the Christian Right(TM)
Merging of government and corporate interests (Enron, anybody?)
Suppression of labor
Anti-intellectualism (one word: creationists)
PATRIOT Act (this one gets its own category)
Corrupt government officials
Fradulent elections (not that it would have really mattered--Bush or Gore, what's the difference? Sigh...)

All of the above (except the 1st) may be found at http://www.oldamericancentury.org/14pts.htm, and in a white house near you.
