Dislike</p>

<p>men publicaly ogling women
men ogling women in public is a FAR bigger issue in other countries. Like...The streets of Calcutta are filled with ravenous guys who feel no shame in staring with wide-open eyes at pretty girls who walk by. It's not as obvious in America unless you go to the sketchy areas of cities.</p>

the whole Clinton family (not just Hilary)
the fact that the Supreme Court acts as a legislative branch</p>

<p>LOVE:
Capitalism
the Bill of Rights
education
Now that's some good stuff! I especially hate the recent Supreme Court ruling reversing property rights protected by the Constitution. They just proved you don't have to be a legal scholar to understand the Constitution.</p>

<p>This is fun. </p>

<p>LOVE:
- Geographic proportions and settings (mountains, lakes, oceans, rivers, deserts, plains, hills, snow, heat, rain, neither overpopulated nor underpopulated etc....)

- The movies</p>

<p>HATE:
- Geographic seclusion. I am an Arab and I love Europe. The US is at least 7 hours away from Europe and a good 12 hours from my Lebanon. I would rather live closer to home and to Europe.
- Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York
- Foreign policy
- Lack of global awareness and international sensitivity
- Very $$$ driven/ capitalistic

-Despite the fact that I'm taller than the average American, I am not Yao Ming.
-Yes I am a Chinese person with a nose that isn't flat.
-That other chinese guy over there is not my brother.
-Taekwondo is Korean, Kendo is Japanese.
-There ARE differences between the Koreans, the Japanese, the vietnamese, and the Chinese.
- The Chinese language is not a series of random high pitched nonsensical yells. If you continue to jabber like a bonehead, I will perform kiri kaeshi on your head with my shinai (It's Japanese, but just because I'm Chinese doesn't mean I can't learn Japanese disciplines). It will hurt a lot, and you will be scared of asians for the rest of your life because you're stupid enough to stereotypically believe that all asians of are capable of doing the thing that I just did to your head.</p>

<p>Okay, enough of my tirade. That's what I love and hate about america. However, make no mistake, I love it much much much more than I hate it, which is why I choose to remain in this country</p>

Exactly. I agree completely.</p>

<p>Yup... more than a few ignorant boneheads think "Ching Chang Chong" actually means something in some Asian language</p>

<p>Oh wait, let me add "Boston Red Sox" to my love list lol.</p>

<p>Red Sox and Indians... fighting those Yankee bastards together...</p>

<p>Love-baseball and jazz. Purely American inventions.
Hate-George Bush. Another purely American invention. (he certainly puts into question the value of an Ivy education - lol)</p>

<p>Likes:</p>

<p>1) General feeling of patriotism, as long as it doesn't go overboard. For example, all of NY comes out to celebrate Independence Day, while in Vancouver, not a single firework went off on Canada Day.</p>

<p>2) The highway system that lets you race from one city to another.</p>

<p>3) The beautiful sights (e.g. Statue of Liberty, Golden Gate Bridge, Mt. Rushmore)</p>

<p>4) American football</p>

<p>Dislikes:</p>

<p>1) The paranoid religious fundamentalists who are suddenly coming out of the woodwork.</p>

<p>2) The free trade hypocrites who demand other nations to open up their markets to American competition, yet when foreign buyers are trying to buy American companies, they scream protectionism (i.e. China).</p>

<p>3) The fact that it's so difficult to get a non-white, non-male, non-anti-intellectual, and non-Protestant Christian elected as president.</p>

<p>Those are just some of the things I can think of right now.</p>

<p>HATE:

when people use the word "liberal" as a bad thing. i personally think liberal has a very positive connotation

people who think criticism is bad for the country
the belief that english, history, and the arts in general are no longer useful in the technological world
when you hear about a terrible accident/crash/etc. on the news and everyone's immediate reaction is that it's terrorism
slutty, backstabbing teenagers, who want everything in the their lives&get it
the fact that celebrities such as paris hilton get tons of press for being absolute idiots

the prejudice against europe, especially france :(</p>

<p>LOVE:
blue states
liberals
the amazing opportunities here
freedom of speech-- it's much better than virtually any other country
the movies :)</p>

<p>Yep...ditto unefleursauvage. I never knew how much I loved America until I got back from Italy about a month ago. Whew. I need ice and orange soda. I would add bad reality television, self-righteous vegetarians, telemarketers, televangelists, and emo-kids to the hate list.</p>

<p>What is an emo-kid?</p>
