Doesn't America have the best museums in the world too? I was fortunate enough to see the Museum of Natural History in NYC as my first museum experience, which absolutely blew my mind away. Then I would hear kids constantly complaining about how boring museums are and I could never understand them. The Metro in NY was incredible as well, especially the American History wing with all the portraits of American heroes (Ben Franklin, GW, etc.). And this is all just in NY.

Doesn't America have the best museums in the world too?

Not really...there are a few amazing one but you can't generalize the country as having the best ones. I'd say as a country France has better museums.

nbachris2788, if you like museums, check out Paris sometime. The city itself is a museum. Some of the restaurants and cafes that were established in the 1300s and 1400s are still in operation and have been the frequent stomping grounds of people such as Voltaire, Rousseau, Louis XIV, Napoleon Bonaparte, Tommy Jefferson, Victor Hugo, Marie Curry and Jean Paul Sartre. The cemetaries are the resting place of such people as Balzac, Jimi Hendrix, Oscar Wild, Jim Morrison, Chopin, Delacroix, Abelard, Heloise, la Fontaine, Apollinaire etc.... The Cathedrals, like Notre Dame, have been around for over 700 years. The city iteself has been a thriving metropolis for over 1,000 years.

As for the actual museums, you have several that are second to none, including le Louvre, le Dorsai, le Centre Ponpidou, le Picasso etc...

lol.....this is soooo pointless. u guys were prolly born hating the yankeess. And u can never really be a true NYer w/o hating the Sox. We hate you. You hate us. Case closed. Neways....I hate being a hater. But this is just one of those things which can NEVER EVER change. But I just had to get that line off my chest after reading ur previous comment.
Now I m not goin to clutter this otherwise nice thread by pointless comments.........no matter how big the provocation.
Have a nice day atomicfusion.

from a european perspective:
hate
-wild capitalism/corporations/ppl who work more than 60 hrs a week and don't realize they are exploited simply because there are no trade unions and stuff
-obnoxious, world power foreign policy-imperialism (just in my life-yugoslavia, afghanistan, iraq-twice!)you guys, go back to the good old times of isolationism and give the whole world a brake from war.
-absolute lack of geographical or cultural knowledge for anything outside america. not even in the media.
-the same poeple that can't find france on a map hate it and the EU just because michael savage said so;
-obsession with 9/11 and terrorism, further pushed by propaganda like fox news. dpt of homeland security. the orwellian society that america is slowly becoming.
-MILITARISM. god, that should have been on the top. ppl that are so brainwashed they still believe in the war on terror and support it.
-narrow minded bastards that can't associate islam with anything more than terrorism
-religious conservatism. pro life and other distorted religious/moral crap
-the bible belt-an area as big as Europe that is actually pro life-that really freaks me out
-the 21 drinking age and the lack of a free porn chanel (some islam nations are more liberal in those aspects)
-boring, snotty WASPS
-rap music. white middle class jewish boys who dress all ghetto
-suburban sprawl (LA, atlanta), highways packed with SUVs and trucks.

-as much as there are uberchristian, ultra-nationalist attitudes, people are polite and tolerant everywhere you go. the best place to be an immigrant
-mobility-in a social and physical aspect.
-optimistic work hard mentality, strong professioanl ethics.
-entertainment industry is huge
-opportunity and the fact a chance was given to me as well. no matter how much i hate some things about america, i'll always be grateful for that.
