things we need in the dorms

do people have their own printers? or do they usually print the papers from the library? i was wondering if i should bring my own. what are things are necessary for dorming?

i think u can do either but it’s more convenient to have your own printer. i’m bringing my own

Definitely bring your own. It’s much more convenient and cheaper.

Dear all,

I am a transfer student, and after a year with a printer this is what I have experienced:

1) Unless I am mistaken, it’s free to use the library’s printer.

2) You will be writing most of your papers in the library. If you are not, you have greater problems to worry about (Think dorm distractions/time management)

3) The initial cost of the printer is low, but each carton of toner is $30 dollars…it adds up

4) Dorm rooms are small and it takes up space

but like the girl who was running my GAAP tour said that one slice of paper is like 10 cents each?! if so, that is outrageous.

if the library has free printing, it might be a good call to not bring a printer – but then you think about cold winter nights at like four in the morning where you need to print; or the fact that maybe the library’s computers are not always free. i’m thinking just bringing my printer and splitting cartridge costs with my roommate – 15/15.

I was in the College, not MSB, but I always heard that MSB students print for free. Otherwise, it’s 10 cents per page for black and white printing. On the plus side, there are several printing locations across campus.

can anyone clarify?

do we need to bring a bike to georgetown?

MSB gets 1000 pages (I think) of free printing a year. Sounds really unfair, but I’m pretty sure that it is built in to their tuition. And, the printing is only from the MSB computer lab. Everyone else pays 10 cents per page for printing, so bring a printer!
