i have already turned in my apps for UC and CSU's. i have physics right now and i think my grade my drop to a D. i currently have a C. if i drop the class at the beginning of second semester (mid january) would i have to contact the UCs and would it affect my chances

yes, you would definitely have to contact UC for any course changes (otherwise when they get your transcript at the end of the year, they could rescind your admission offer)...it may affect admissions to the most selective (UCLA, UCB), where a C/D would alter your GPA substantially, but to most others, it's not a big deal at all (just try to keep a C/study like crazy for a B by semester).

so do schools like UCR and UCI care about the D. i heard that the lower end UC's don't really care if you get a D during Senior year

A D means the course doesnt even count in terms of credit for UC requirements. UC A-G requirements are with C or better.

yeah but i've already finished my science requirements though. will getting a D rescind a school such as UCR's admission to the school if i accept their admission

also they don't use senior grades for stats right? they only use it for post admission eligibility right?

bummmmmmmmmp
