This Congressional Student Leadership Conference

Yeah, I got the invite in the mail. It looks pretty legit. Want to make sure it isn't a scam before I apply online.

One more question: I really like engineering, but it says the congressional simulation thing is their flagship program and you get to meet Bush, etc. What should I do?!? Specifically, what will be better with engineering schools like MIT, Caltech, and Stanford?

I think its too much money, but hey if you can afford it then go ahead.

Do Summer Ventures or that Internship with the Georgia professor instead.

you got it too michael?

I would do the internship/research thing anyways. How much is it?

i went to the national young leaders conference, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. it is run by the same people as the CYLC, and it is completely legit. I learned valuable leadership skills and met some amazing people. I've even kept in contact with a few of them and get this: i was even going to go to homecoming with one of the girls i met there, until the whole event got cancelled, (i still ended up just hanging out with her that night). Bottom line: if you have the chance, go.

Ok. Should I do the congressional simulation or the Engineering/Robotic thing? Both are interesting, but my true passion is in math/science.

Yes I got it, its like $1000+.
Too much for me.

I've gotten it for 3 years in a row.

hey cool i went to NYLC as well 2 years ago. damn, so many hot chicks in one place. daYAMN! .... oh and it was educational, but man, the southern chicks were so hot. Go for the people and the experience not for the, ahem, "educational value."

I was thinking about doing it the past two years, first year couldn't afford it, second year decided not to because everyone told me the same thing:

"It's a summer camp for rich kids"
