those who had interviews

what did you guys bring?
transcript, resume, anything?
or just nothing?

Had interview with an alum tonight, didn't bring anything but have an interview at Cornell next week, not sure of what to bring.

had an interview with an alumni this weekend. didn't need to bring anything.

Nope, nothing.

What do you benefit from the interview?

well, i got to know the school a little better. because i'm from los angeles, i had to ask about the weather. and i dont' think i'm gonna do too well with it.

Hahah me neither. My interviewer was really fun. He was dressed casually (jeans, t-shirt, and a jacket) so initially, I felt overdressed. However, he made me feel really comfortable. I think this interview made me like Cornell more. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not (pending decison).

I think an interview could only help you.

where did u have ur interview?

A local coffee bean in Torrance. You?

at the alumni's house

Do you think that the alum had access to our applications? At my meeting, she mentioned some things that made me think she had seen my application.

I know when I went an had an interview with a professor he had no idea what my application said and didn't seem to care or want to know. He said he wasn't interested in my grades, but just wanted to be able to see if I was a good match for the school. I assume the same would be true for alums, but admissions counselors definitely do have access, but they may be swamped and unable to really read up on you before the interview. I would recommend bringing a resume to hand to your interviewer. It helps the flow of conversation and steers it towards things that you know you feel comfortable talking about.
Best of luck

Mine had a page of info on me. I didn't really get to see what was on it, but I assume it's the basic telephone #, addresss, email...etc. When he mentioned my app, I asked if he had read it, and he said no. I know that's not the same as having the ability to access our apps, but ...mmm. I don't know.

my interview was at the NYC Cornell Club last sunday. My interviewer was a graduate of my HS too! maybe that helps......we spoke for over an hour. It went very well.

Can anybody elaborate on what the interviewer asked you? I have an interview tomorrow and I am very nervous.... Any help would be great. If you want to help Email me at drdibble06@hotmail.com or IM me on AIM at drdibble06. Thanks guys

Me too. I'd also like to know what the interviwer asks. dbibble, can you post the info here if someone send you some?

not to tell people like you what to experct during the alumni interview

jk

Are you guys all applying to the "required interview" schools? I wonder if anybody who is applying to a school that doesn't require an interview got called...

Yes I will... I also applied to George Washington and they called me liek a week after i sent my application in.

I have my interview this Saturday!
