Is there a way around having to buy it? Or at least a way to get it cheaper? That stuff is some kind of expensive...

steal it from stalls lol

You could go to a place like Sam's Club or CostCo and get a huge package for cheap (I think it ends up being ~$0.53 a roll, but you also have like 48 rolls you have to store somewhere....). You could (and should) make the people sharing the bathroom split the costs or alternate who buys.

Stealing it from stalls might not always work because all the stalls I've seen have the HUGE roll that goes in the plastic box thing and the ones in the dorms are the ones like at home, so it wouldn't fit (unless you wanted to set it on the floor).

I'm actually not looking forward to using the provided cheap 1 ply toilet paper, but I don't really want to carry a roll around with me......haha

are you kidding me?! lol... hate to say this, but welcome to the real world, things aren't free and, seriously, if TP is really breaking the bank for you, I really don't know what to tell you but that should be the least of your worries. grow up.

My roommates and I have been alternating who buys the TP, paper towels, trash bags, dishwasher soap, etc. We buy our own laundry detergent because we all have different quirks about laundry.

Anyway, if somebody wants to buy the expensive TP (or whatever it is they're buying), that's their own choice and shouldn't expect the others to pitch in on it or change their habits to make it last longer. On the other hand, if someone wants to buy the cheap stuff to save money, nobody complains and if they do they can go buy their own.

We've been living together since August and haven't had too many problems with it.

And, I agree with the above poster, welcome to the real world. You won't be able to steal TP for the rest of your life so buck up now and learn to budget around the things that you really need. You can always miss seeing the newest movie on it's debut night, but it would really suck to be on the toilet and have to scramble for something, anything to wipe with.

You could try to get yourself on a schedule where you go while at school and not at home.

If you can't afford toilet paper, then what can you afford????

Develop a case of severe constipation. Problem solved.

a bike?10char

hey people, lay off. it's understandable for college students to want to save on everything. i mean, i was even thinking, that if I lived alone, i would be jacking toilet paper, soap, spoons, forks, plates, napkins, anything that's free from school! well, if you're hardly home, then you can probably just take some from school and use the bathroom at school most of the time.

What? Seriously, TP should be on your budget. Yes, it's important to save money but you need to look at what else you're buying that might prevent you from buying quality, not crappy, TP.

Next time you're at your parents' house, do take a few with you... :)
