Trying to get into Kelley through Standard Admission. These are the classes I’m taking in the fall, what do you think of the course load?
BUS-A 100 Basic Accounting Skills
FRIT-M 200 Intermediate Italian I
HIST-A 222 Law in America
INFO-I 101 Intro to Informatics
MATH-M 119 Brief Survey of Calc 1
MUS-Z 111 Intro to Music Theory
Why are you taking HIST-A 222? It doesn’t have a great grade distribution and you don’t need to take S&H gen ed classes. ECON-E 201 and 202 are required to get a Kelley degree, and both of those count as S&H credit. INFO-I 101 is also not required and does not fulfill any degree requirements.
I wouldn’t recommend taking 17 credits first semester, especially because 7 of those credits are not helping you make progress towards your degree. You need to be roughly following this course progression in the link below in order to not fall behind. The specific order that you take classes in does not matter, but the amount of required credits completed each semester does. I’m also saying this assuming that you don’t have any AP credit because you did not specify. If you are coming in with a lot of credits, then you have more room to take electives.

I would drop A222 because you don’t need it, and removing it will be one less class that you have to worry about getting a B in. That would also give you more time to focus on your other classes. I would also try to replace the informatics class with a required class such as ECON-E 201, BUS-C 104, or BUS-K 201 if you can get into one of those. Adding BUS-T 175 could be a good idea too if you do the above steps and need an extra 1.5 credits.
Also, make sure to be familiar with the requirements to get into Kelley via standard admission.

@iubaccounting Honestly I don’t know, my advisor just told me to pick another class so I chose HIST-A222. I have AP credits that fulfill all of my S&H Credits and half of N&M, so I’m taking INFO-I 101 to finish. C104 and K201 are fully booked this semester, and I have the credits for E202 from my AP exam. Can you PM me?
