<p>Still in review. I just heard about a girl who got her counselor to call and it really helped.</p>

<p>I don't know. My dad briefly talked to the girl's father. I'm guessing he just vouched for her and recommended her. From the way it sounds it was literally "the counselor called and it pretty much ended it." It all really depends on what the counselor says though.</p>
<p>Somehow, I find it hard to believe that call from a counselor can get you into Berkeley. Unless the counselor is some kind of amazing orator, or has some type of connections, it doesn't seem like a high school counselor can sway a whole appeal committee. But if it's true, I wish I had a better relationship with my counselor. What a shame.</p>
<p>Well, I doubt the student's appeal was completeley doomed with the call but the dad seems to believe the counselor had significant sway.</p>
<p>i dont think counselor recommendations have significance....I mean, they don't even care that much about teacher recommendations, which are considered more important....</p>
<p>is getting closer and closer to may 1st are there any good news yet?? Mine is still freaking in review is taking forever lol. i just wish they can just reject or accept me so i can just move on haha</p>

<p>Well according to the father, the counselor called and the counselor literally reported back "I got you in." Once again this is 5th hand but a call couldn't hurt.</p>

<p>officially rejected twice. sent mine in on april 13th, got the online reply today (28th). looks like i'm off to la. (:</p>

<p>I got an e-mail from a high school friend; her appeal went through and she was accepted. She was notified on Friday afternoon.</p>
<p>Hey, everybody. I'm really worried. I got accepted to the shared experience program and I'm not sure if this bodes well for my appeal or not.
On one hand- Shared Experience= determined to have barely missed admission before appeal was mailed
On the other- They might prefer those were rejected completely rather than those who were lucky enough to get a semi-rejection.</p>
<p>hahahha Daniel you and me are in the same boat, may I offer you a pattel? I got the shared experience program also, and i am having the same thoughts you are. I mean think about it, they NEED/WANT people to accept this program, which lowers the chance that they would take people off of it...i mean if they are trying to get people to go to UC Merced it does not make sence for them to take people off the merced shared exp. program. ===/ just my thoughts, but hey maybe b/c we barely missed the cuttoff we might make it on appeal :-)? I put ALOT of new information from 10-11 grade in mine x_X all i can do is hope</p>
