Tight Situation

I was a student at BU engineering and i ended up on academic suspension with a gpa of less than 2.0 and now i'm looking for a college in the CT area to continue my studies. The problem is that schools like Uconn require a gpa of around 2.5 and they require me to take an year at another college since i'm coming off of suspension. The thing is i'm not sure if its worth trying to get into uconn at all because even if i take classes at another college and do real well I still believe it wont be enough for them to accept me. On top of that, the state schools in CT dont have engineering as majors so that's a problem also. I was wondering if anyone had any feedback on how i could go about my school situation.

If I understand you correctly you were on suspension and that time has passed. Why would you not return to the same school for at least one term.....show success and then try for a transfer?? Do you want to remain an engineering student? Do you know what you have changed to allow success this time?

i can't return to BU because of the money...i was considering a business major but i dont want to waste the credits i already took such as the higher level math classes

The higher level math? So you must have some decent grades and some that blow is that it? Have you contacted other schools.....say Bentley in MA for example or OLIN if you really want engineering? Have you even called....I know it is hard but you might be surprised.
