tutu, in this case, I have the “inside scoop” with regard to the fall mainstage musical and audition schedule. :D

tutu, my D happened to just call home and I think I have this straight but please do not have your D rely on this and check directly…but I think the auditions are Friday, Sept. 7 and Saturday, Sept. 8 for the fall Stageworks musical. She told me about a very hectic week that week (as soon as she returns from LA) because that is her first week as a faculty member at Pace’s MT program, first week of rehearsals for a musical she was cast in, the auditions for her NYU musical she wrote, having to rewrite the musical for that, and she is also working on a musical commission for a major theater. It is hard for me to keep it straight but when we were talking of schedule conflicts, she mentioned the audition dates that week. So, that’s what I know.

wow how proud of her are you! What a busy girl indeed! Thanks for the info. We are moving my daughter in tomorrow and I have given her a heads up! Hope she did something exciting in LA!

Exciting times for your girl too to be heading back to campus!

My D leaves for LA tomorrow actually. She’ll be there all week. She has had a commission to write music for Disney Imagineering and this week is her big presentation to all the execs there. While there, she also booked a singer/songwriter gig in a club in LA. Her sister who goes to grad school in northern CA is flying in for one night to spend her birthday with her sister. That D doesn’t know it but my younger one has VIP tix to Disneyland that day for free and they have not been since they were little girls.

As you likely know, the fall musical at Tisch that my D wrote (and is planning major rewrites of as soon as she returns from LA) is an all female musical! So go girls!

PS, I forgot that her first week back in NYC on top of the things I listed, she has her own concert of original songs at a club in NYC one night. I can’t keep it straight…the life of a performing artist.

tutu, I obviously do not know who your D is (and that’s fine), but what year is she in? My D worked with all the NSB MT students who are rising juniors back when they were all freshmen and so she knows them all. Not sure if your D was in that class but if she was, she would have had my D in class. This year, my D is working with the Pace MT students on their faculty, but she’ll be involved with the fall musical at Tisch too.

my daughter Stephanie will be a sophomore this year in NSB so she probably was not privileged to working with your talented daughter but now maybe she will get a chance-who knows! Awesome about the club in NYC. Will the NYU students hear about it in case they want to go??

tutu, I don’t know that NYU students would know of my D’s gigs. My D actually plays singer/songwriter concerts almost weekly in NYC and has a residency at a couple of places. She is not on faculty at NYU and is only consulting on the fall musical since she wrote/composed it. If you email me sometime, I can give my D’s name or website.

My D would not know your D (yet) as you say because my D worked with the freshmen two years ago before your D entered NSB. My D will be around Tisch in the fall due to working on the fall musical, but she is on faculty this year at Pace’s MT program.

Best to your D as she starts her soph year at Tisch!

And best to your daughter as she embarks on her teaching! I will email you! My D and her friends would probably go see her just because she went to NYU. They love doing things like that!

Neat! Please do that. I am out of town for several days but will eventually get back to you if you write me when I get home again.

PS, I will try to remember to tell you also that my D performs every week in NYC in a musical sketch comedy group also and the entire cast is made up of NYU alums who all write and perform the material. Your D and her Tisch friends might also enjoy that.

They would honestly love that! They are a very friendly, and enthusiastic bunch!
