Tisch Saturday at the Square invite

i got one too

I got mine, too!!!

i got one and literally started crying and screaming at the top of my lungs like i was back in the good old days at a hanson concert. i cannot believe this! : ) : ) : )

Eeek! Same here. It got sent to the wrong address, so I was totally surprised when I got a call from my mom tonight.

Congrats to everyone else who's heard, as well!!!

I got mine today too!!! Oh my gosh, this is so exciting!

4 ppl from my school got into tisch if this is for admitted students only...

wow, they're coming in fast now. I called and i tried to act all calm and naive, like "hello, so i received this invitation..what does it mean?". The woman i was speaking to told me that I had been accepted. It was great!! So when will we be notified if we got a scholarship?

Congratulations to all of you! Mackie, your financial aid package should come with the official offer of admission around April 1.

haha yeah i called to, i saked if i could give me ssn to double check and they were all "no, its not a mistake, you're in" so grats everyone

How worried should I be that I did NOT recieve one? I have very high academic stats, so that would not be the issue. Although I said CAP only at my audition, I did the summer pre-college program, and I had hoped doing the program would boost my chances a little.

And if I were to get an acceptance letter Apr. 1, does not getting this invitation mean I am not being considered for significant scholarships?

I suppose I'm just freaking out because several of my friends, and seemingly everyone on this board, has recieved an invite and I haven't. AH!

-Mikksmom's very worried D

Don't worry!!! I'm sure you will here only good news. NOT everyone who is admitted is invited to this event. If that were true, there would be WAY too many people. So, once again, keep calm and relax. Believe me, I know how it feels.

Wow, sounds like everyone who uses the internet got into Tisch. I was thrilled to get my invitation too, but have they started accepting everyone who applies now? Or is there just a huge amount of people who use this mssg board?

How many drama students attend this thing? Does anyone know? Are the majority of students who get in invited? or is the majority not invited? I'm sweating here...and by sweating i mean dying.

I do not know what percentage of accepted students are invited to Tisch's Saturday in the Square but not all accepted students are invited as that would be a very large number. Please be aware that this event is NOT just for drama students but all of Tisch and so includes film, recorded music, dramatic writing, dance, drama, and so on. While you have to be realistic that the acceptance rate is quite low, please remember that there are admitted students who do not get this invitation. The final results will be out on April 1. Hang tight. This is not the end of the process yet.

but is this acknowledging the fact that you have been accepted if you recieve the invitation? Because I am a very paranoid person and I feel like I can't trust anyone lol. Even though I called the admissions office and they told me that I got in.

Marla...you HAVE been accepted. Trust me. I am 100% sure. The invitations say the event is for ACCEPTED students. The event takes place after April 1. Who would attend if they were rejected? It is only for accepted students. Not only that, but the admissions office TOLD you that it means you are accepted. I have a daughter who attends Tisch, advise applicants as a college counselor and know many who have been accepted in the past. An invitation is an EARLY notification of your acceptance. PLEASE believe it now. Best wishes.

(if you don't believe me or others, please believe NYU's admissions office)

I got mine! I am so thrilled, I can't even begin to explain. NYU is my dream.

I auditioned with CAP 21 as my first choice, but I said I would accept other programs. Does receiving the Sat. letter increase the likelyhood that I got into CAP? Is there any guesstimate on how many receive this (percentage wise)?

haha! I also suffer from severe paranoia. I was cool about it yesterday, but all today in school i was like: "what if this is a cruel joke?" lol. Is it true that only the top NYU freshman get invites? In that case, i might just have to call again and make sure there wasn't a mix up.

Congrats to all of you. When the admissions office WRITES that it is for accepted students and then also tells you ON THE PHONE that is what it means.....it is like the expression, "from the horse's mouth." It is REAL. Why would they even invite you to the event that takes place after decisions are mailed April 1? Think about it. But besides that point, it is stated right on the invitation and right on the phone.

I can totally understand feeling incredulous and thinking, "wow, has this really happened for me?" But in this instance, there is PROOF. It's the real deal. Now, go celebrate!

Malia, I am thrilled for you (and others) because you have had a dream come true. I've never forgotten those moments for my own kids and I get chills hearing about my advisees whose dreams come true and all the CC posters who are experiencing this happy moment, a culmination of a lot of work and goals over time, no matter the school.

The fact that you got an invite, however, is NO indication as to whether you got your first or second choice studio. It is just not related. Next, you will receive your letter of acceptance to NYU/Tisch around April 1. One week later, you will receive a letter telling you which studio. You will have all of that in hand before attending Saturday in the Square. The invitation is not a nod to a first choice studio, nor to a scholarship.

Close to April 1, about 15-18 Tisch accepted students (all of Tisch, not just Drama), will get a letter of being selected as a Tisch Scholar (this is separate from scholarships......which is still a different letter). Tisch Scholars holds a reception for admitted Scholars also at the Saturday in the Square event.

Thanks for the info. soozievt.
