I'm considering applying to Marquette this fall and am a little worried that it may not be the right fit for me. First off, I got a 28 on the ACT and have a 3.9 GPA. I've taken quite a few honors and AP courses. I don't really know what I want to major in but I'm considering either English or some sort of History. From what I hear Marquette is big on Dentistry and Engineering but I haven't been told much at all about the English and History departments. Can anyone help me and tell me if Marquette would be a good fit? Also, how are the scholarship programs? Thank you so much.

I am going to be a Freshman at Marquette this fall. I had a 3.8 GPA and I had a 26 or 27 on the ACT and took AP and honors courses along with varsity tennis for 4 years and a few clubs for 2-3 years. Also I was apart of NHS and had a lot of volunteer hours. Marquette is not really known to be giving out a lot of Scholarship money but I got 11,000 per year. This did not include money and reduced interest loans I received from FAFSA. If by you mean Marquette not being a good fit by worrying if you could get accepted/be at the same academic level as other kids, I think you are fine. I’m going to be studying Computer Science. Although Marquette is known for Engineering and Dentistry they are really known for their physical therapy program which is ranked 12th in the nation. I saw that English and History were ranked at around 100. I wouldn’t take these rankings that seriously because I think it’s really of what you make of what you learn in these programs and how successful you can be with the skills you acquired. Not sure I answered your question about “being a good fit” but let me know if you have any other questions.

Okay, thanks a ton!
