*Spent all my time fresh. and soph. year working out and practicing for basketball, but I had to quit when I got a job as a junior b.c. we needed the extra money (my mom dated a conman who ran up tens of thousands of debt on her credit card).. worked 16 hrs. a week during the school year last year and 32 hours a week in the summer
will try to work this into my essay along with how my dad walked out on me at 11 and I've been morally supporting my mother like an adult ever since and how we had to go to a local charity and get free food for a little while and how I fell down three times in basketball tryouts and got up and made the team

So CAN i get into Cornell or should I save my time?
What is your prediction?

You can’t ever say definite answers when it comes to a school like Cornell, but I would say you have a good chance.

We know you go there. Don’t be bitter because you stand no chance at the ivy’s.

And as much as you like the University of Phoenix, we’re sorry for you.

To be honest, your chances aren’t necesarilly “good”, but people just say that because you have great stats. But for Cornell you’ll need to improve your SAT CR score to atleast 700. You actual have the potential with your current stats, but it depends on how you make your application “appear”. Try to exaggerate about your EC’s, and other extras. Bring the CR to a solid 700+. Make sure you get all A’s this senior year especially first semester. Make your essay AMAZING. You have a good chance if you follow what I said.

Lastly you have ZERO extraordinary extracurriculars. This is what could most likely get you rejected. I mean c’mon look at your ECs: Basketball, YR, NHS- How boring for an Ivy League that gets 2300+ 3.9 gpa top 5 students with amazing ECs.

Just because you have greattt stats doesn’t mean you can get in because they have to choose between THOUSANDS of applicants, and your just average out of the applicants.

Well I plan on submitting my ACT instead of my SAT…
I am retaking it Saturday, and I expect to get a 33 or 34… (34/35 math, 34/35 english, 32-34 reading, 29-33 sci)
In my app, I emphasize my job A WHOLE LOT
