London, so that I can immerse myself in the Twee and Indie rock scenes simultaneously. I could go to "Twee as ***" parties one night and see The Rascals with Alex Turner the next night. *sigh But that life is not yet mine.

What are your plans for the night? (I'm seeing the band HEALTH. You should check them out)

I'm having a little post-Valentine's Day party with some friends, and we're just going to hang out and watch movies and have fun. :) Before that, my goal is to write an essay for a scholarship and clean the house.

Describe what the best day of your life has been like?

I'll answer again as I'm very umpatiently waiting for my friend to pick me up.
Best day of my life: September 22, 2007
At 12 pm I finally find Rialto Theater in Tucson, AZ. As we drive around to get to the parking lot, I spot Alex Turner talking on the phone and completely freak out. Then two of my friends and I set up camp outside the theater, making small talk with the guy who works there and occasionally leaving for coffee or food. We walk by Alex Turner who is about 20 feet away still talking on the phone and I freak out. Then we go back to our spot in the front. Nick O'Malley, the Arctic Monkeys bassist walks by us in a jester outfit. I wave and he waves back. It was really weird. At 7 or 8 we finally go inside and see Voxtrot and finally Arctic Monkeys. Afterwards I rushed to the back where I got a picture with Alex Turner. Then I went back inside and met the Voxtrot guys (I met them again in Denver and hung out with them until 4 am and now have their phone numbers). It was an amazing night. If you want to go to a concert, you should really go with me because excluding Modest Mouse, I have never seen a band play live without at least just meeting them afterwards. I like my musicians. :)

What are your feelings towards Valentine's Day?

a cute holiday turned in a commercial direction - an excuse for the overweight population of america to eat chocolate and candy, for those single to either be pitied or frantic to find a substitue date, and for those already "in love" to be pushed into a "romance" they should be able to find without a holiday.

wow. that sounds pretty cynical. i really don't hate it, but it is pretty.. stupid, i guess.

looking online at things i'll never be able to afford. i actually dont mind not being able to afford them. they just look so pretty! i really like net-a-porter.com

who's your favorite musician no one's ever heard of?

"No one's ever head of" is a little difficult. It really just depends on what type of music you listen to. But one of my favorite bands is Voxtrot and I've hung out with them after one of their shows. They make amazing music and they are just really amazing people. But I recently found out that the lead singer, who I believe to be my soul mate, is gay. I can't believe I was around him for an entire night and had no idea! And I was so excited when we exchanged phone numbers for nothing really. I'm still completely in love with him, I just can't expect any sort of physical relationship, unfortunately, because he is probably one of the best looking people I've ever met. Sorry for the long response. So yes, listen to Voxtrot. They are sort of indie folk rock pop, if that makes any sense.

What is the last book you read/are currently reading?

Pattie Boyd - Wonderful Tonight: George Harrison, Eric Clapton, and Me

i'm only fifty-ish pages into it and i already am completely fascinated with it. gub, you'd probably really like this book if you're into musicians.

and then Kate Chopin's The Awakening for AP Lit. haven't really gotten far into it, but i've been meaning to read it forever.

hmm

if you were food, what would you be and why?

jl08, I was actually just thinking about Pattie Boyd the other night. I don't know if you watched that Celine Dion special on Saturday (okay, I'm a dork, I admit it :0 ), but Celine dedicated Something in the Way to George Harrison's wife. I couldn't help but think how awkward that had to be.

If I was a food, I think I'd be curry. To steal a quote from House, "You're abrasive and annoying and come on way too strong, like... vindaloo curry. When you're crazy about curry, that's fine but no matter how much you love curry, you have too much of it, it takes the roof of your mouth off. And then you never want to see curry for a really, really long time but you wake up one day and you think... god I really miss curry"

Pen, definitely. So deliciously bold and indelible (and doesn’t smear as much). I’ve been taking all of my notes in black Sharpie this year, actually.

I do, actually! One of my resolutions was to write in it every day of 2008. So far, I've been keeping up.. not sure what will happen when I head off to college, though.

My walls are painted "burnt nectarine". I was really into orange when I was 14. And I have some Matisse prints and mirror on one wall, a painting of a flower my mom did above my bed, and a framed Monet print next to my door.

Belgian milk chocolate with hazelnut. ^ xyai, I'm doing that, too! A bunch of my friends and I are keeping "366 days of the year 2008" blogs on Xanga or Facebook, though now that I think about it, I'd much prefer a physical notebook...

hmm.. every once in a while i go through phases of being obsessed with certain shows, but usually i don't watch tv because of that very reason. the last show i obsessed over was Project Runway, but right now I'm in my anti-TV mode. i have been watching CNN lately because of the primaries.

what do you do to make yourself feel better when feeling down?

There are certain songs/musicians that generally improve my mood. And after a sufficient amount of time spent laying on my floor with my iPod I get out of my house and do something, since that's usually when I'm happiest.

What background do you have on your desktop right now?
