To take or not to take....the December SAT?

I've been studying for the past two weeks pretty regularly for the SAT on Saturday, however, my score is still around 100 points shy of where I'd like it to be. I really want to take the SAT once and get it done with, so I'm hesitant to take the test on Saturday and am thinking about moving it until January. Or I'd just take it on Saturday, and if I don't have a good feeling about it, cancel the scores. Can colleges see that you cancelled your scores? How does this reflect upon you as an applicant?

Ideally I'd really like to just do the SAT in one shot, because I know that I'm the type of person to slack off the second time around if I did fairly well in certain sections (and then make my score possibly a lot worse). Anyone have suggestions to what I should do?

Colleges can’t see that you have cancelled your scores.
What you could do (and what I am going to do  ) is read the SAT discussion thread after the SAT and get a general consensus on how I did.

During the test, I’m going to make little notes on my SAT admission ticket on the questions I’m not sure of (they didn’t collect the ticket so i can just take it home afterwards) and check the answers with CCers

Great idea!

Oh that’s such a good idea! I hadn’t thought of that! Thanks!

Good idea about the admission ticket
