There is and there is not a quantitative answer to this forum. But, there is a rule to which there are exceptions.

So, I deliver a slide rule which will tell you about how your chances lie in the sterile world. It can be a bit fun. Go to: http://63.135.109.195/hernandez/ai_calculator.cfm

Then after crying or laughing in joy, remember those stories you heard about the dumb guy down the street got in when his smart neighbor did not, or how the guy got in when the girl with equal or better numbers did not, or how Julie down the street got into that great school but was rejected by one of her safeties. And, that is when you should come to realize that admissions is not sterile, is not perfectly gauged by quantitative numbers or neat compuer programs.

It is then that you should concentrate on the essays and the other items which make you stand out -- and then hopefully in teh Spring the others talk about how you got into that great school when the "as smart or smarter" kid down the street did not.
