TOEFL requirements..urgent..plz respond

I had planned to give my TOEFL next week but there are no seats available now.. i think there probably aren't any available for this month and February would be too late. If you know then can u tell me if the following uni/colleges that i'm applyin to might have TOEFL. My SAT I verbal is 630 and SAT II writing is 760.
I'm applyin to Princeton, Uni of Pennsylvania, Brandeis, Carleton, Colby, Bryn Mawr, Middlebury, Connecticut College.
pls pls i need urgent help.

To me personally, U Chicago waived my TOEFL requirements and I don't think my ED school even received it in time (yet i got accepted....)

Don't know if the same will go for your colleges. But definitely call all your colleges especially Carleton (they kind of agreed to waive my TOEFL score when i was doing the interview and talking about how meaningless TOEFL was....)

Your SAT I and IIs should be enough for the adcoms to at least consider.

if u r from UK (thts wht it says on location) - u dont need toefl. Also, if u chk tht native language is english - u dont need toefl.

UK students don't take toefl...if i'm not mistaken

sorry abt the confusion regarding my location.. actually i'm a Nepali (Asian )student..but have been in UK for about 15 months ..am doin my IB here..but still, my first language is not Eng... but all the instructions in school have been in Eng till now. some mo replies plz.

thanks for the replies till now..btw bowtoserenity, Carleton just emailed me sayin they will waive it for me..grt

Ah that's great man :D I have a friend who registered on December and will not take it until late February :S I heard that they're changing the format of the TOOEFL, and as a result many people are trying to take it before the change of format- dunno, really.

ya right realistknight. speaking is gonna be added in september. Yale ED didn't get my TOEFL and I'm rejected. But except toefl, i had a lot of really bad thing there.

do you think schools will waive their TOEFL requirements, if my verbal score is 710. I am appyling to University of Texas and it requires all international applicants to take the TOEFL. I have studied in a american school since 5th grade....I don't see the point in taking the TOEFL?

boomer01: most schools waive the TOEFL if you have studied for 2 years at a school where English is the instruction language, which is your case. But you should contact the school to confirm.

Yes, I was wondering whether i would need to take the TOEL IF idecide to apply to a USA university for a second major. I am currently a fourth year university student majoring in the English language and Literature, and I completed the fluency and proficiency part of the curriculum with an A a year ago, indicating that for fluency and proficiency as well as psonunciationI am on (near-)nativ speaker level.

would i have to sit through a standardised test?

All classes have been in English at Uni.

It depends on University. Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, Yale look at the language of instruction and your perfomance in tests. For example, the undergraduates with SAT II Writing 600+ do not need to do TOEFL. But for you TOEFL woud most certainly would be no more than formality . You could take the test in Arnem.
