I had no idea that for anyone whose first language is not English, submitting the TOEFL (and various other proficiency tests) score was mandatory.
***, I've been attending international schools for practically all my life and I got a 760 on the SAT critical reading...

I remember taking the TOEFL a year ago and scored 118.
Is sending it now going to make any difference to the admissions decision?

and if I do decide to send it, am I going to penalized for not sending it on time??

your critical reading is hign enough, so it could waive your toefl score. But if you want to send the toefl, it is fine. I don’t think it will make any significant change on your admission decison.

I’m not sure about UMich, but schools have different policies about sending the TOEFL. Some universities do waiver the TOEFL if you have a high enough critical reading score.

Talk to them directly. My friend got the TOEFL requirement waived

Suggest you give them a call and ask to speak with an international admission counselor. Your file might be stuck in the incomplete file and never got read. You certainly qualify for a waiver if you can speak with an admission counselor.

Michigan does not automatically waive TOEFL for high critical reading score. The application is only read when it is complete.
