Toefl?????

Ok well I took my SAT's and I got a 1980, my english is very good, I have been living in the US for 6 years now but english is not my first language or the language spoken at home. I want to apply to UPenn but it was mentioned somewhere that people that don't speak english at home and are basically immigrants need to take a TOEFL exam. So would you happen to know anything about that? In what circumstances would I really need to take TOEFL?

I believe the TOEFL is really for international applicants and such…I am very confident that you most likely not need to take it.

I doubt you have to take it, unless your scores in the CR and W sections are extremely low. I’ve only been in the U.S. for seven years by the time of college admissions and it never even crossed my mind then that I needed to take the TOEFL for anything.
